Historia
Half-human, half-demon, Zeke Blackwood has become a legendary warrior and wielder of mana. To the kobolds he's Ak-toh—Savior. The centaurs call him Spear of the People. Both species have rallied to his side along with beastkin, elves, and other creatures who've sworn allegiance to him. They're willing to sacrifice themselves while he fulfills a quest on behalf of the god Oberon: to be the greatest fighter in the forthcoming apocalyptic battle between good and evil. There’s enough waffling in this book to start a waffle house . Is wrong is it right does it matter if you’re going to do it anyway? Congrats the demon in his head just sounds like his ex Abby to the point I think they might be the same in a plot twist. Narrator is good as always

The sound effects ruined it for me.

Like the story and the narration but the sound effects were annoying and cringe at best.

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Good overall
Revisado: 11-15-23
Love the series and the direction it’s going. Issues I have are more minor annoyance nit picking Felt like there was to much time spent on fluff detailing the surrounding area and outfits maybe just tired of a slowdown in pace. The telling us the outcome of the fight then detailing the fight was anti climactic at points. The way Viv powers up at the end felt cheap and I hope there’s major issue for the way she powers up beside recovery time.Liked the side characters development and the struggle they felt to keep up. Voice acting was good but the accents and character got mixed up at times not awful enough to take off more then a star for me. Look forward to the next one.

Great story narration leaves room for improvement
Revisado: 06-16-23
While the story was good and a nice fresh take on litrpg. The accents take time to get use too and are a bit much at times not hard to understand but feel over the top. It’s different then most in that the main protagonists isn’t trying to make the most of his new world but keep what little is left of the old one.

Narrator is a poor choice for this book.
Revisado: 07-11-21
I just want to say I have nothing against this Neil Hellegers . His choice of voices and the reading style in general are not right for the book after following up the previous narrator. I can understand if you redo the whole series having an effort to make it your own but this series has a build fan base with an expectation of what the characters sound like.
The voices don’t have any range at all and you can’t tell the difference in some characters the accents are just bad you can’t barely tell they have one at times. Eric and rugrat have sound very similar and rugrats southern accent is barely there . The reading style is short and choppy feels like he pauses after every word . The reading speed was fine for me but others have complained.
Disappoint in this audiobook barely finish three chapters before I had to turn it off. Will not be getting anymore of the audibles for this series unless this book is redone in a better narration . If this was the first book in the series I wouldn’t have picked up the other six books and would have missed out on a great story please don’t redo the series if it’s going to sound like this.
I will still read the books and will buy paperback or hardback copies to support the author and would recommend reading the books to those who hated the narrator. The story keeps getting better I feel.

Good story great performance weighted down bit.
Revisado: 02-20-21
They book starts off with some action and set the tone for the whole book and is a lot darker the The land at the start. Then it is slowed down by prompts and analyzed skills. It feels like at times we should be more excited by the prompts to come then the action we are in the middle of. By the last third of the book it picks back up the pace enough to end strong and me wanting more. Spoiler ish warning
The biggest con is the feeling that I should be more excited to see what prompt he will get or just achieved instead off what’s going on with his people.
He’s a god and a big deal is made about his people being important yet we only hear about 3 for most of the book The 3 were good characters but it felt like they didn’t really matter even in the last fight it didn’t feel like I got to know about any of them. The ending felt okay but I didn’t care about his people that much because I barely knew them. Leaving out the prompts at the end as a weak tease was kinda crappy but not going over the feeling of his people or even giving us new people to look forward to for the next book felt like a let down. It like an abrupt end. Yes he has a night of remembrance for the fallen but we only hear about his feeling. Not any of his people beside one he just got is named. Will look forward to the next one but not a day one buy and not a book and audible both buy just one or the other.

Good story but I miss the Mist villagers
Revisado: 06-05-20
Nick does an amazing job as always only reasons I got the audible version after reading book. This should have been an 8-9 hour book and lacked progress. The over analyzing of data bought the book to a crawl a certain points.
Its not all bad still good humor and character development the first half was enjoyable. It was missing the other characters and that made it feel like less happen even though richter did a lot. Didn’t answer the questions we wanted instead it was more about hyping the prompts. What happening in the village who made it out of the battle with the lich and the death toll for his people whats going on in the bugbear front and what issues are they facing with him gone. We waited almost 2 years to find out and we are still waiting.
The ending makes me want more.I want to know what happens with richter but I also want the mist villagers back. Would love an alma narration of the goings on in the mist in the next book maybe split between her and richter. Could even be a side story of her own.
