Historia
Calla escaped Morbeth only to find herself fighting for her life once more. Incendia seemed the perfect sanctuary of escape. The stories told of the mystical island claim all inhabitants were annihilated. Those tragic tales...were lies. Desperate to keep their truth hidden, the islanders take Calla and her friends prisoner. Despite her dire situation, something about that beautiful—yet deadly—paradise speaks to Calla’s soul, whispering the powerful secrets pulsing through her veins.

Completely immature
Revisado: 10-09-22
I found the decisions of Calla to be completely stupid. And the whole story is hardly believable. For the most part I just can’t get over how immature the main heroine is. I do not recommend waiting credits on this.

Not enough emotional investment from main character
Revisado: 09-19-22
I liked this first book. It seems like an interesting beginning of the story and good amount of action. But somehow I don’t fell like there is a lot of emotions pass through from the main character or any character. Everything is just a bit bland. I’ll listen to the next book but I’m not as thrilled for it as with some other of my favorite series.
Also I like a bit more promise of romance in the first book than what I saw here. There are 2 potential romantic interests and Raine seems to be as okay with one as the other but no enthusiasm either way..

Barbarian meets princess story
Revisado: 06-20-22
In this book the future is post apocalyptic. So people in the future don’t have a lot of luxuries or any to be truthful. They do however have a travel machine. Well, this and the fact that they seem to have reproductive issues prompt some of the people in the future to go back in time to kidnap women for breeding purposes. I would much prefer future men and society to be more advanced and more sophisticated. But this is personal preference. If you like plots where heroine falls in love with her barbarian kidnapper this book is for you!

Historia
The upheaval in my life began the moment a prince stumbled into my house and asked me to read his fortune. Any other night, I might have made an excuse to get him to leave, but this was no normal visit. My fingers prickled to touch him. So, I granted his request by handing him a single wishbone. When he snapped it, the wish...bled. Hearing me suck in a shocked breath, he asked what it meant. Such an ominous omen could only mean one thing: His death was imminent. Fate revealed that he wouldn’t die of natural causes. Someone wanted him dead.

Juvenile but fun listen
Revisado: 05-26-22
This book even though is part of the series can be read as a standalone. The story is something akin Selection series. I found narrators voice for male characters was no great. The handsome prince sounded like an old man on his deathbed.
Overall I enjoyed this listen. The story wasn’t boring at any point and I was able to finish it in a day!

Narrator has annoying voice
Revisado: 01-18-22
I disliked narrator for these series from the beginning but somehow in this book I just couldn’t stand her anymore. It’s beyond annoying, it sounds like person either high or constipated… I think because of this some of the writing that is repetitive stood out to me as well. For example, how author describes human father of the main heroine, that he is the person who kissed her scrapes when she was little. This is literally mentioned every time the guy comes onto the scene. I am invested in these series now, the story. I do not know if the next book is the last. I wish it wouldn’t be the last but at the same time I don’t think I can handle more of this narrator.

Great book, not the best narration
Revisado: 01-06-22
I loved the story in the book, it kept me interested the whole time. I found that narrator pronounced different characters names very similar. It made it hard to follow especially because those characters appeared in the same conversation together. There was also no difference in the tone of voice when more than one person was speaking. It seemed all males had the same voice and all females had the same voice. I had to go back and listen again after realizing a different character was involved. Ugh! I haven’t read the book only listed to audio so I can’t be sure where the problem lies. Is it possible some characters have very similar names? In talking about one of her human male friends and her main love interest..
I also really enjoyed the romance part of the story. It slow and not as prominent as in some other books, but it’s there and seemed progressing in a very natural way.
I recommend reading this book. Even though the narration is not the greater I still prefer audio in this case compared to reading.

I just really like Maddox and Rainy as a couple. Rainy is soft and feminine while also being strong. Maddox is typical strong and sexy alfa male who found his girl.

Great story but sex scenes are ridiculous
Revisado: 07-27-21
I really enjoy the story in these series. It is one of not many romances where both heroes and hero are completely devoted to one another and it’s not boring. The sex scenes got annoying really quickly though and in this 3rd book they are just ridiculous. I started skipping them because I just couldn’t listen without palming my face.
The narrator is mostly good but I think a lot of times she doesn’t convey the right tone of the dialogue. So it just seems off and not right at times.

Wow! Unexpected ending of the book!
Revisado: 06-09-20
I love all of Jennifer L. Armentrout books. This series is the best yet. I can’t wait for the next book.
The ending in this book is something special and not anything I could have imagined. Trinity and Zain’s story is super romantic. Also just as in any of her books there is so much emotion and heartbreak (I was bawling the last 30 minutes of the book)
