Historia
Now finally sophomores, their curriculum expands, allowing them to train in the majors that Heroes specialize in. The new classes will test their minds, bodies, and determination in ways never anticipated. In a year filled with the unveiling of secrets, unexpected entanglements, and, of course, super-powered battles, who will be left standing is anyone’s guess. Because if all that weren’t enough, more light is being shed on last year’s kidnapping attempt, and the results point at something far bigger than mere rogue educators.

i don't like the sudden change in voice actors between years. other than that, it's a solid Audio book

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

it's not exactly poorly written.
Revisado: 09-22-23
it's okay, I guess. the characters are extremely thin - there's really no depth there. it's very much like Republican naval gazing. I love post apocalyptic stuff, but this is more like a right wing political advertisement than a true post apocalyptic story.

Historia
Five friends, gamers for life, gather for their usual game night. Yet, when they use a strange new die they are transported to a fantasy world where all gaming ideas can come true. Together, the party must join forces to deal with the vile Necrolord whose plans will not only threaten this world, but Earth as well. Should be easy for a team of adventurers, but when gaming and real life meet, there are situations which cannot be anticipated.

these books are so dumb
Revisado: 06-06-23
And yet, here I am, having just concluded book 5. They are super trashy litRPGs, with literally no skill in the writing for the first two books. The author rides to the finish line in the early books based solely on a little knowledge of the litRPG genre and a mix of nostalgia porn for xennials and excessively crude humor (this is not a series to listen to with your kids). The voice acting is... good? ish? There are plot holes.
These books are fun though, and I've just purchased the sixth one because I'm on vacation and I think it's okay to rot your brains out a little while vacationing. I've never encountered a book that referenced Ranma 1/2 before in a fantasy setting. I'm still processing that. On to book six.

I love the concept. I dunno, the plot is okay. I kind of expected the main characters to be smarter, considering one of the characters is an MIT student. There were so many missed opportunities.

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Jason arrives at a kingdom in peril and he's surprised to discover that it's not his job to save it. With the authorities fulfilling their responsibilities (for once), he looks forward to some quiet time to rest and recuperate. The locals might not find ceaseless monster onslaughts and an interdimensional invasion relaxing, but Jason has had a rough few years. He's doing his best to let go of his anger. While his team is caught up in duty, Jason has no shortage of people looking to interfere with his rest. Enemies—old and new—are circling, and even would-be allies are trouble.

another hit
Revisado: 10-15-22
I'm finding these novels to be therapeutic. the way that the character interacts with people despite having been in trauma situations is an inspiration, and I've found that I'm better at managing interpersonal relationships just by trying to emulate Jason Asano. To shirtaloon: your books have made my world a better place.
