Historia
In this riveting and surprising personal history, John Lithgow shares a backstage view of his own struggle, crisis, and discovery, revealing the early life and career that took place out of the public eye. Above all Lithgow’s memoir is a tribute to his most important influence: his father, Arthur Lithgow, who, as an actor, director, producer, and great lover of Shakespeare, brought theater to John’s boyhood. From bedtime stories to Arthur’s illustrious productions, performance and storytelling were constant and cherished parts of family life.

Interesting info, but not exactly what I expected
Revisado: 07-11-17
What did you like best about Invisible Acts of Power? What did you like least?
I love Caroline Myss and there are some wonderful ideas in this audio and the central concept is really interesting. What I didn't like was the fact that I thought I was getting a book when this is actually a recording of some kind of workshop she gave, using people's letters to illustrate her theory. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if it's better or not, but I thought this audio was going to be the actual book and not the recording of a class.
What three words best describe Caroline Myss’s voice?
Calm, funny, emotional

Historia
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

Boring book
Revisado: 12-20-12
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I don't know who would enjoy this book, because I could not read it to the end. Maybe there is a point in which it becomes more exciting, but I did not reach this part...
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I have to say I am a bit disappointed, since it was a highly recommended book. The cover also attracted me, but in the end, it was just boring and not the kind of story dynamics I was expecting.

Historia
This book is all about the single most powerful move that humans can make to promote health, reduce obesity, lower the cost of health care, nurture our fragile environment, conserve our energy resources, feed the world’s steadily growing population, and greatly reduce the suffering of animals in factory farms all over the world. As Dr. T. Colin Campbell says, “It turns out that if we eat the way that promotes the best health for ourselves, we also promote the best health for the planet."

Important discussion weakened by radical opinions
Revisado: 07-09-12
What did you like best about Healthy Eating, Healthy World? What did you like least?
The author brings to discussion a very important subject and offers the reader a new kind of diet, which should be followed by everyone. His arguments favoring this "new diet" are quite strong and have almost completely convinced me if it weren't for the author's radicalism at some points.
