Interesting premise, but loaded with bad implausible non-science fiction and inaccurate technical details . Ultimately a rather silly book

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

if the story had been scary instead of horrify not as in spooky but as in disgusting un interesting and off putting.

What was most disappointing about Chuck Palahniuk’s story?

why would any normal person want to hear three different acounts in revolting detail about three young male adelwscents killing or mutilating themselves in the process of graphic perverse forms of masterbation?? horrifying and disgusting but NOT "haunted"

What about the narrators’s performance did you like?

the narrators were good hence the two stars but seriously dont do it!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

the writer is very good but what a waste of his talent!

Any additional comments?

the book is misnamed the title suggests ghosts and horror but it is not thiss it is gross boring and not scary series of tales

I listened to this unimpressive yarn all the way to the end and it was diverting but not well written and the dialogue was not very memorable. The characters were not well developed. I was entertained on a long drive and I did want to know where the train wreck would stop. My biggest complaint concerns the narrators; They were TERRIBLE, well two of them were. One guy sounded like Tom Bodette Motel 6 spokesman and the woman had only one voice for all her characters. She read her lines in a very wooden fashion with a strong southern accent and I mean strong. Granted they did not have much to work with but good voice talent could have made this good story with bad writing work.

This book was short and concise and an easy listen. It was not Pope John Paul's "Love and Responsibilty" but if I want that I will read it, again, maybe a few more times. This was a light hearted look at how not to be obnoxious and that certainly is THE first step in finding a companion. I especially liked the essay on how to be charming; it might well have been titled "First Steps Toward Developing Character". This little gem was itself, charming. There's definitely some junk in here but there is some treasure too. I can reccommend this book for entertainment and to get you thinking. Just don't think this read is going to solve any serious problems.
