Historia
Authors June Hayward and Athena Liu were supposed to be twin rising stars: same year at Yale, same debut year in publishing. But Athena’s a cross-genre literary darling, and June didn’t even get a paperback release. Nobody wants stories about basic white girls, June thinks. So when June witnesses Athena’s death in a freak accident, she acts on impulse: she steals Athena’s just-finished masterpiece, an experimental novel about the unsung contributions of Chinese laborers to the British and French war efforts during World War I.

Revisado: 06-24-23
Wow and wow, it was engaging and entertaining whiles moving through difficult perspectives of cultural appropriation as an outsider and an insider. Amazing meta awareness of publishing and the writing process as well.
This felt like a contemporary INVISIBLE MAN

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Wow, I was so blown away, I felt right there in her shoes
Revisado: 09-24-21
It’s been a while since I read a memoir that resonated as such a vibrational fidelity that I can almost smell what she is smelling, think what she is thinking.
The way Tarana Burke describes her everyday life experiences illuminated my own past experiences.
I am so blown away.

Historia
Decades before the American Revolution, Benjamin Franklin lamented that English settlers were constantly fleeing over to the Indians - but Indians almost never did the same. Tribal society has been exerting an almost gravitational pull on Westerners for hundreds of years, and the reason lies deep in our evolutionary past as a communal species. The most recent example of that attraction is combat veterans who come home to find themselves missing the incredibly intimate bonds of platoon life.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Logically flawed content
Revisado: 05-27-19
This book is written very poorly. Like the 50 shades of gray writing quality for self help.
For example the book made a comparison between two things appear binary where the two parts weren’t binary but actually overlapped with each other.
