His cover isn’t blown - yet - but it’s only a matter of time. The Heathens won’t be satisfied until he’s dead, so he decides to lay low and heal. Yowza! This story hit the ground running, on two wheels. Seriously, from the first moment in the alley to the end on top of the pool table, I was hooked, engrossed and on the edge of my seat. There is so much going on in this story, it never really slows down and that was fine by me. Fast paced, full of energy and sex, lots of angry sex that grew into so much more.
Braum really doesn't even know who he is. All he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt is that he has to find his brother and he can't stop moving, running, hiding. If he stops for just one second, everything begins to crumble and fall, the facade of whatever mask he's wearing that day begins to melt and he can't tell the difference between who he is and who he is pretending to be.
Sweet is a bad ass. As the president of Havoc MC he carries the weight of the world on his shoulders when it comes to his club, his men and their families. There is a bit of darkness in his past but he's always known who he is and who he's supposed to be. His men do not question his authority, they may argue with him, but his word is law within Havoc MC.
Sweet makes Braum stop, breath and feel. Braum makes Sweet want to take care of him, shield and protect him. They're fucking perfect for each other. Problem is, they're both too damn stubborn for their own good. The push and pull between them is electric, it's like a heavy fog that could be cut with a knife. The sex is off the charts from the start and it only gets hotter, better from there.
I did have one tiny issue and it might be a personal thing, but I do not like fisting. It pulled me right out of the story and I had to walk away for a while, then come back. Sorry if that's a bit of a spoiler but I think it should be listed as a warning in the synopsis. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Romance with an edge.
Revisado: 06-06-19
I'm a girl that doesn't do BDSM. That being said, I loved this book. The BDSM aspect of the story is very well explained and conveyed without taking it to a level that's all about pain and power.
Jake is the Dom, Nick becomes his Sub. The story alternates POV between Jake and Nick, who they are with a little bit of background, but the majority of the story is spent on building and continually evolving these two characters from where they are in the beginning, to the loving couple they become. Jake craves dominance in every aspect of his life, he's very much an alpha male. Nick craves Jake and takes the time to learn about the lifestyle because he wants Jake in his life and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. What I liked most about the story was the journey Nick took as he dove into learning what made Jake tick and make the hard decisions about what he wanted and whether or not he was willing to give up the control with him being an alpha male as well.
Sean Crisden is a God, that is all. He not only gives the characters their own voice in the story he completely immerses himself in the story so that he can convey every emotion Jake and Nick are feeling in any given moment.
Great story, world building and character development was amazing and the narration was top notch. I highly recommend. And while the synopsis suggests reading them in order, this is the first listen in this series for me and I didn't feel lost at all so I don't think it's a must to listen in order. Just sayin.

I really enjoyed the role reversal in this story and how both the Author and the Narrator both added to and advance the story with their own portrayal of the words. Hunter has to be on his game at all times on the job and in public, but when he's alone with Rod, there's something in the air and about Rod's personality that allows Hunter to let down his guard, be himself and truly open up.
Nick Russo does a great job bringing these guys to life and I always enjoy the stories he tells. I liked this book and the characters more so than the ones in book one. Happy that I took a chance on this one!

I'd give it 10, but Audible won't let me!
Revisado: 11-02-18
This is the third book in a series that must be read or listened to in order.
Bram is an Omega in a pack that cherished and protected him from everything, which doesn't prepare him for the darkness in the world. Duke is an Alpha that knows exactly what he wants, but stays in the shadows, certain that Bram deserves more than just him. Once these two Shifters stop assuming and starting communicating they finally get what they've both desperately wanted... each other.
I've been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished the last one, it was definitely worth the wait. Russo does such an amazing job with all the characters, careful to give everyone their own voice in the story. I'm really enjoying each new layer of this universe that the Author has created with each book. She's really taken the Shifter lore and bent it, reshaped it enough to make it different and unique and I'm loving it.
Can someone tell Nick Russo I need book 4 now please?!?!

Historia
At 40, Vincent “Vinnie” Fierro is still afraid to admit he might be gay - even to himself. Vinnie attempts some self-exploration in Chicago’s Boystown bars, far from anyone who knows him. Naturally, he runs smack into someone from the neighborhood. Trey Giles has little time for fun, let alone dating someone who swears he’s straight. Yet after one night of dancing cheek-to-cheek, Trey agrees to let Vinnie court him and see if he truly belongs on this side of the fence. It seems like a solid plan, but nothing is simple when family is involved.

Thrice divorced, Vinnie is trying to figure out who he is when Trey dances his way under his skin. What starts out as exploration develops into something more like soul searching. And when push comes to shove, Vinnie is determined to go the distance. Now if he could only get Trey to agree with the plan.
This story was the perfect balance of intrigue, angst, romance and just enough humor to balance out the underlying seriousness within the story. It flowed really well from one chapter to the next and kept me completely engaged from start to finish. Narration stayed in line with the story and Darcy conveyed the characters exactly how I pictured them in my head.

Best friends forever, with a twist!
Revisado: 11-02-18
I absolutely loved the premise for this book, told from David's perspective as he writes the story of his life with Matt. Childhood friends that grow together, day by day and year by year until the day they look at each other and see something different, something more. They literally fell in love with one another over two decades. The book explores their lives, two adolescents looking for turtles become teenagers that just don't understand what the big deal is when it comes to girls. High school graduates that, of course, travel to the same college and become roommates. Two young men that would do anything for the other, trust one another implicitly eventually come to the conclusion that the reason why they could never make any other relationship work is because they've already found... the one. It's the joy of walking in their footsteps on this journey that really made the story for me.
This is my first book from this narrator and I had a few issues. A few times throughout the character speaking obviously changed, but he kept the same tone which confused me. Also, he literally spoke what the Author wrote. If a character was laughing, he laughed, like, a lot, and every single time. You may think this is the narrator pulling the emotions from the characters but, not so much. At least, not for me. It didn't flow well for me in the end, actually pulled me out of the story after the fifth or so time.
Overall I enjoyed the story and would recommend.

Miki's past refuses to stay in the past
Revisado: 10-28-18
Miki St. John has been to hell and back, several times in fact. Just when he thinks all the skeletons have turned to ash, a trap door pops open and brings forth more murder, mayhem and madness. A mother he never knew, doesn't remember, turns up dead and rips a hole in the feeling of safety he's only recently grasped hold off. What's worse, the man he loves could be lost protecting him and the Morgan clan circle the wagons, digging their heels in, hell bent on keeping Miki safe.
As much as I will miss Miki, Damie and the loud ass, brash Morgan clan, this was definitely a fitting end to their story. Full of rich dialogue, disturbing situations and lot of love that's held together with barbed wire, nails and blood; Sin and Tonic finally answers the question readers have been asking since book 1... where Miki came from.
Tristan James is the all powerful God of narration. With a voice that oozes passion and sensuality like a lovely aged bottle of scotch, the rich liquid slowly seeping through the ice cubes in crystal glass, he brings every emotion every character is feeling to life with a plethora of voices and broad spectrum of tones, inflections and nuances.
Definitely a must read/listen story but you must start at the beginning. The journey that Rhys Ford takes this large, eclectic group of perfectly imperfect characters on is nothing less than spectacular.
