Dane Anderson’s voice! Both he and Emma did an outstanding job bringing this story to life, but I stayed up all night because of Dane’s deep voice and Italian accent as Enrico. When Enrico tells Olivia she better learn Italian because he only f***s in Italian… 🥵🥵🥵 I’ll be replaying that scene again and again. A well-paced, steamy romance with depth and well-developed characters. A must buy!

Not as good as the first

Like many reviewers, I’ve been waiting for BJ’s story since the its release date was announced months ago. Unfortunately, this installment didn’t move me at all the way Lavender’s and Kodiak’s story did. I don’t know what it is. It reads like it was written for teen booktokers rather than avid lovers of romance.

Awesome Narration!

I almost didn’t pick this one up because of a negative review about the narrator. Anthony Linden did a fantastic job actually acting out the parts. It brought the story to live in a dynamic way for me. Well done.

The narration!

So, this might be the least helpful review as it’s solely about a single narrator: Dan Bittner. He’s a new name to me, but he’s about to be on constant rotation, along with Christian Fox, Teddy Hamilton, and Zachary Webber. My goodness, his sexy voice! I swooned and replayed the majority of his parts.

Overall, another stellar ensemble cast and a hot, worthwhile romance by Lauren Blakely. But Dan, Dan, Dan. Just Mmm.

A 10/10 listen!

Every Kennedy Ryan novel I read or listen to has me thinking she’s outdone herself, but with Block Shot... oh my god. It is perfection and the masterful narration takes it to another level. This is the elusive 10/10 listening experience I pour over countless books to get to. Finding a book exactly this good, that hits all of the right notes, is a rare and special thing.

Amateurish

I loved Nicole Garcia’s Delivered Through the Storm and decided to give this one a try. What a night and day difference! This book was amateurish with a very shallow, nonsensical suspense storyline thrown in. Did not enjoy.

Good, but disjointed

There are at least 3 different stories involving the same characters, all in one book. It’s as exhausting as it sounds. I didn’t think there was enough of a common thread tying the first part of the book with the last. Case in point, the H goes from playboy porn star to navy seal to a vigilante security operative. I will continue with this series, with the hopes that the next books have a tidier plot. This started out promising, but became unbearably exhausting.

Not the best from Kylie

This was a meh for me. I agree the plot was a lot more inventive than I imagined it would be given the amnesia leading to a second chance trope. But, this fell flat. The story was rushed and juvenile at parts. All the cutesy thoughts and overly contrived comical situations caused major eye-rolls. It was just silly and anticlimactic. I think Kylie had a quota or a word count requirement to meet. Listen only if it’s free and you like Andi Arndt narrations.

Olivia is a shit human being. I could not tolerate her - and yes I got through the entire 2nd book, but this is where I get off. Wtf does David see in this selfish b*tch!
