I enjoyed this book immensely. I think it was a very engaging story. I kept expecting there to be slow parts (drawing out the school years or worse, the summer breaks) but there is none of that here. It was well edited. Only one small thing annoyed me greatly about the story and most people will see it coming from the first chapter but overall a good read. Great narrator as well.

Wonderful Story

This is the only Gaiman I've read so far but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Gaiman himself is an excellent narrator and the story is like a breath of fresh air. I found it engaging and could not stop listening to it. I then went on to listen to it a second time because I enjoyed it that much.

Bland, Banal

I did not care for this audiobook at all. The reader was fine. The story seemed promising but became trite and, at times, oddly confusing. This may be due to the fact that it's an abridged version but overall I did not care for this story.

Classic McCarthy, simple yet chilling

If you are a McCarthy fan you should not pass this one up. I've heard a number of people remark that this is quite unlike his other works but I disagree. The elements are there -- simple yet powerful storyline, simple yet powerful dialogue. The reader is excellent and well chosen for this material.

Not a fan/familiar with McCarthy ? If you enjoy post-apocalyptic stories give this a chance.

Very Good Family Saga

Normally not a book I would have purchased it came highly recommended by a friend and was also my introduction to Audible. I was quite surprised to find that I very much enjoyed this story. The reader was excellent and while she does create voices for the characters I did not find it interrupting the flow of the story. She is actually quite good at maintaining consistency from character to character and the audio quality was excellent.

Excellent Subscription Choice

This has been my favorite subscription so far. I enjoy the host, Terry Gross, who always seems well prepared for each guest and treats the material and the guest with respect. I found an incredibly wide range of topics and interesting guests each week. The only complaint I have is that I wanted to listed to almost every program and couldn't find the spare 5 hours a week to do so. Will definitely purchase this subscription again.

Some interesting topics but a dry at times

A good subscription choice with a main topic divided in to 2 or 3 separate sections. This one was not really of much interest to me because of some of the subjects being discussed but it is a quality program.

Excellent Program

This is my third month as an Audible subscriber so this is the third sub. I've tried. The five programs I listened to were all excellent and engaging. I was planning on subbing up for another month but Audible just added a new choice that I want to try. But I will definitely be back for more of this program. I found each topic of great interest and the companion pieces all fall together to form a well rounded look at that topic. Highly recommended.
