Historia
Antonia Adams is the product of a loveless marriage between a beautiful young model and an aristocrat. As a child, she is abandoned in the abyss that yawns between them, blamed by her mother, ignored by her father, and neglected by both. Unprotected and unloved, she learns that the only way to feel safe is to hide from the dangers around her, drawing as little attention as possible to herself, to be "invisible".

Vulgar Language
Revisado: 03-10-25
I stopped listening to the story in the middle because i didn't like to hear the vulgar language. I tolerated the swear words, but when the story started sharing a very detailed sexual assault; I decided I had heard enough. I realize some enjoy this type of story, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

wish I read the reviews before purchasing
Revisado: 01-13-25
I got this book because it's advertised as book 3 of the Cross road. After one chapter I was confused, wondering her this book tied into the Cross roads. So I read the reviews... seriously wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. Many wrote the this should have been a stand alone book. I finally decided to listen to the story, since it was already purchased. The story was... ok Nothing like what the author normally writes. If I was actually reading this story I would have probably never finished it, but the narrator made the story interesting. I learned a valuable lesson, read all reviews before making a purchase again. There was very little written about Almish. And as for Christian values it was treated as an after thought. Kind of like...." Oh BTW so and so Prayed a repentance prayer"

I decided to try this book, because is was offered free. I was surprised at how good it was. This author touched me of several levels so much of real life issues twisted into an interesting story. I just couldn't stop listening. I will explore more titles from this author.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-05-24
I love Karen Kingsbury, but this book is disappointing. I admire her for taking on such a hard topic. However the story was long and it dragded l fell asleep twice but when I awoke I didn't feel as though I missed anything. :-(

great!
Revisado: 02-23-24
I love the reading... changing the voices made the story feel as though I was "watching a movie" this gave closure to the story, it seemed to answer the "why?" question that seemed to to follow every book.
