Historia
Trust is the fuel for all of life. We are wired biologically, neurologically, emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically to trust. Dr. Cloud explores the five foundational aspects of trust that must be present for any relationship to function successfully and helps us to understand how to implement them. He also guides us through the difficult process of repairing trust when it has been violated and broken, even when restoring trust feels impossible.

Historia
Author of the New York Times best seller The Beginning of Infinity, David Deutsch, explores the four most fundamental strands of human knowledge: quantum physics, and the theories of knowledge, computation, and evolution - and their unexpected connections. Taken together, these four strands reveal a deeply integrated, rational, and optimistic worldview. It describes a unified fabric of reality that is objective and comprehensible, in which human action and thought are central.

dont let the other reviews fool you
Revisado: 11-05-24
being a genius doesnt translate into being a good writer thats why most geniuses dont pursue writing books. this book was extremely dry and to be honest very confusing to follow due to his confusing use of examples and explanations. I got the jist of the book but it was extremely frustrating to get through. its really outdated.

Historia
This book is about pleasure. It’s also about pain. Most important, it’s about how to find the delicate balance between the two, and why now more than ever finding balance is essential. We’re living in a time of unprecedented access to high-reward, high-dopamine stimuli: drugs, food, news, gambling, shopping, gaming, texting, sexting, Facebooking, Instagramming, YouTubing, tweeting....

Longer than it needs to be
Revisado: 01-03-24
This book had very insightful information at the beginning of the book but it starts to go into story telling mode and therapy sessions for the rest of the way. It got pretty annoying due to the fact that I thought I would be learning about the dopamine neurotransmitter but instead got a bunch of stories of cases of people with addictive personalities. Story teller was not bad

Historia
As the 20th century drew to a close, the Austrian psychologist Alfred Adler (1870-1937) was perhaps the least known of the prominent figures of his time - in particular Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung - and yet he continues to be a figure of influence in the 21st century. His school of ‘individual psychology’ involved a holistic approach to the study of the individual, with a key focus on the way each person viewed the world, especially regarding their concerns of inferiority.

extremely difficult to understand
Revisado: 09-12-23
the language used in this book is so unnecessarily complex that it feels like broken English. it's definitely outdated. the performance of this speaker is bland. there were so many times I couldn't focus and would lose interest due to the combination of word choices and speaking

great concept. terrible actor. confusing wording
Revisado: 08-28-23
the book itself is great. the idea and concept it present are insightful and profound.
that being said, the actor who voices the kid is extremely annoying. something about the combination of his voice and pitch and tone that comes off as offensive and unpleasant to listen to. the philosopher's actor was good. the choice of words they use in this book is very unnecessarily complex to the point it becomes very bland to listen too.

unprofessional, bias
Revisado: 11-19-20
I can't tell if it's the author or the way the narrator is delivering the audiobook but the whole experience was very off putting. seems very bias and personal based.
