Historia
In one second, my life disappeared. My past. My memories. My future. The only certainty I have from the last three years is that my older brother is dead and that I am the only eyewitness. In order to protect the case, the lawyers demand no one give me any information about my life...I must remember on my own. My only help comes from my brother’s best friend and world-renowned investigative reporter Spencer Cross. He has no idea how many nights I’ve spent dreaming of his name—and his body—next to mine. Each day we spend together, I find it harder to want my old life back.

love this book
Revisado: 11-19-24
When I started listening to this, I got excited as I remembered the characters. This was a sad, and happy story.
One thing I love about Carinne Michael's, is that she links a side character from one book into the next as the protagonist. She is an inspiring author, and a fantastic story teller. 👏

not bad

what I found annoying was the constant mentioning of minority issues. It's only an issue if you make it one. We all bleed red let's leave it at that.

Abnoxious
Revisado: 04-08-24
I'm halfway through and I already hate the protagonist. There's no one direction with her story or her resolute. She's fine one minute, then over the top the next. Her character is suppose to be nice and empowered, but she's squeaky, irritating, and a brat. She demands something, but them freaks out when its what she asked for. This is not suppose a rich Valley girl, who just wants it all. Her character has morals and values. but they are laking in the context.
There's too many references that's suppose to lead to dramatic events. it's not a surprise if it's been shown several times! The protagonist and her family member have no sense of respect for other people's jobs, company rules (That are common knowledge) and requirements.
There's a very disturbing scene, where the protagonists brother in law of 20 years, gay, and over 10 years her senior; mentions a thought of what if attention with her. Why would anyone, including someone who's gay, think that "If he was straight he may fall in love with her". gross, disturbing, and very out of context (again).
On another note which I've mentioned in another review for this author is; there seems to be too many 1st person thoughts being devulged from characters that is not the primary 1st person character.
as a writer, when write 1st person, then you only reveal thoughts of that 1 character, if you add an additional protagonist using 1st person, then you need to be very clear in the separation of characters. But, to display thoughts of random characters in the 1st person formate causes confusion. instead, write those thoughts as if two characters are talking to eachother about what they are thinking.
Now the plot of the story is an interesting one, and the Antagonist hasn't been faced yet. So, I will continue reading.

fairy tale
Revisado: 04-04-24
I listen to thousands of books a year, of all kinds of different styles. This one was nice, even if it was a weird fairy tale love story.
The romance was too quick, and very unrealistic for real life. The story jumped between the two protagonists, each in 1st person. The climax was way too short and was out of character. the ending was nice, but very short as well.

Tears will flow
Revisado: 03-14-24
I love Kristen's books. I started reading her books at the start of 2024. I'm more than half way through. I waited for this one as I could tell it would be a Crier, I was correct.
This book was different than all her other books. This book was sad, heart breaking in its love story. In this book she has made her protagonist a male, where all the other books they are all females. Even though she made some changes, Kristen's sense of warmth, growth, and true love rains truth here as well.
If this is the first book of Kristen's that your considering listening to, then you've hit the jackpot. just don't stop here, give all her books a listen.

Historia
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

Historia
Millie Barnes is this close to finally achieving her perfect life. Rewarding job as a local doctor on Cape Cod? Check. Cute cottage of her very own? Check. Adorable dog suitable for walks past attractive locals? Check! All she needs is for golden boy and former crush Joe Carpenter to notice her, and Millie will be set. But perfection isn't as easy as it looks - especially when Sam Nickerson, a local policeman, is so distracting. He is definitely not part of her master plan. But maybe it's time for Millie to make a new plan....

I loved the mystery of this book. I can normally determine what will happen next when I read Kristen's books, but this one took me by surprise. I loved it, got involved and had to take a personal reality break to remember that I'm not Milly.
I love this author- her stories are inspiring, light hearted and full of intrigue.

I loved this book. The story took lots of anticipating turns, I didn't want to put it down. Each of the voices brought out the personalities of the characters, allowing my mind to truly imagine them and to get to know them intimately. This is one I hope to listen to again.

Informative
Revisado: 01-08-24
This was a fantastic story of family, faith, persecution, and coming to Jesus. The explanations of the War between Isreal and the Palestinians history was very educational. The personal history with being born to a Humas leader. living a life as a known terrorist who secretly works for an organization that helps capture Hamas leaders. then to realize that ending of a war starts with the heart thru Christ Jesus, is profound.
I was reluctant to continue the story as the first couple chapters only spoke of the authors childhood, family, and the treatment from Isreal to the Palestinians, and the start of Humas. But I felt convicted to continue listening to the story by the holy spirit. In this day of age and the current war between hamas and Isreal, knowledge of the inner workings of humas has opened my mind up to the reality of the need for Christ, the answering question of Why the fight between the two people and the need to support those truly needing the support.
Thank you for carrying your cross, inviting us to know and understand you, and for expressing your need and everyone's need for the Lord. thank you!
