Historia
For almost a hundred years, Hadrian Marlowe has served the empire in its war against the Cielcin, a vicious alien race bent on humanity's destruction. Rumors of a new king among the Cielcin have reached the imperial throne. This one is not like the others. It does not raid borderworld territories, preferring precise, strategic attacks on the humans' empire.

Best so far!

This series has been excellent. This book is the best so far. I’m excited to see where his series goes, especially with this narrator. He’s exceptional.

Historia
Hadrian Marlowe is lost. For half a century, he has searched the farther suns for the lost planet of Vorgossos, hoping to find a way to contact the elusive alien Cielcin. He has not succeeded, and for years has wandered among the barbarian Normans as captain of a band of mercenaries. Determined to make peace and bring an end to nearly 400 years of war, Hadrian must venture beyond the security of the Sollan Empire and among the Extrasolarians who dwell between the stars.

Great continuation of the series!

I loved this book. Starting the next immediately. It definitely got slow at parts…but I always found myself coming back later that day or the next needing to know what happened next. I love the flowery descriptions and melodrama of Hadrian. It’s a ton of fun. Also, the narrator is really incredible.

Historia
The galaxy remembers Hadrian Marlowe as a hero: the man who burned every last alien Cielcin from the sky. They remember him as a monster: the devil who destroyed a sun, casually annihilating four billion human lives - even the emperor himself - against Imperial orders. But Hadrian was not a hero. He was not a monster. He was not even a soldier. Fleeing his father and a future as a torturer, Hadrian finds himself stranded on a strange, backwater world.

Richly Dramatic

I didn’t find this book nearly as slow as many others did. I enjoyed the pacing, world building, characters and direction it takes by the end.

Historia
Breq is a soldier who used to be a warship. Once a weapon of conquest controlling thousands of minds, now she has only a single body and serves the emperor. With a new ship and a troublesome crew, Breq is ordered to go to the only place in the galaxy she would agree to go: to Athoek Station to protect the family of a lieutenant she once knew—a lieutenant she murdered in cold blood.

Excellent, also same narrator as the first book
Revisado: 06-08-23
I think there must have been a time when the second book was uploaded with a different narrator, but the version now has the same narrator for all three books (and she’s great!). I really enjoyed the story too. Excited for book 3.
