i was very surprised with the first installment of the series, great world building and character development, it had me hooked by the end of the first chapter, so much so that i kept checking back to see if the second installment was ready for release and was disappointed each time i came up empty handed, so when the book was finally released my anticipation was hitting the boiling point, Mr Yap didn't disappoint, he was able to capture the same sense of adventure he sparked in "opening moves" i attribute my four star rating to my eagerness for an amazing yarn, so i judged it a little harder then the first book, but, this is a great listen, a shut up and take my money scenario if there ever was one - Audible 20 Review Sweepstakes Entry

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Revisado: 03-23-16
I honestly don't understand how this book is getting so many five star reviews; its awful!
the characters are unlikable and repetitive. the world building is one dimensional and the pacing is completely flat! this would have made a better crappy B movie, but you would probably still change the channel.
the best decision the author made was getting Nick Podehi to do the narration but he couldn't even save this stinker!
the best decision you can make is not purchasing this dribble or getting a refund
To be fare i did have high expectations for a time travel dinosaur story and gave up on it with two hours left in book. Maybe the author throws a curve ball and totally saves it, but i sincerely doubt it. never the less i still wont be buying anything from this author in the future!

Yeah!!! Grown up Fantasy
Revisado: 10-29-15
it was nice to see Mr. Anderson tackle high fantasy with a mature audience in mind.. i look at all these reviews and see half the crowd taking about there being too much sex in the book like its some smutty romance novel, there were four sexual situations in the whole story and none of them were very explicit or particularly long., such a tiresome and doll complaint for a truly good fantasy novel and I'm pretty sure a lot of young adults are sexually active anyway! so when i see comments like not young adult i think people really mean not for children and i would hope not when the series backdrop is set in a world at war and is pretty damn violent.
what makes a good fiction novel is knowing what your reading is not real but having it grounded in realistic situations. It's even more important in epic fantasy and this story mixes some ugly truths of life in very well, giving it a lot more substance the Author tackles hard subjects in a tasteful way by implying atrocities like genocide and rape making his villainous characters even more repugnant but not making me squirm through the gritter bits...
great story, great narration ...five stars all around...The Godling Chronicles were okay but this series has made me a fan, cant wait for the next installment!

Historia
Tensions are mounting after a devastating battle before the walls of Shaliyah, birthplace of the Prophet. The East is rising, bringing equal measures of hope and despair to the magical world of Urte. For some, Salim's victory is a call to arms; for others it is evidence of a world gone mad. While the armies of East and West clash in brutal conflict, emperors, inquisitors, Souldrinkers, and assassins all have their attention turned elsewhere as they hunt the Scytale of Corineus.

MOVER OVER GAME OF THRONES
Revisado: 10-21-15
David Hairs world has really come alive in this third installment of the Moontide Quartet, the world building and character development is excellent.I blasted through this book in two days and cant wait for Ascendant's Rite. like most epic fantasy series we get several character point of views and after about six POV's the narrative can start to get a little disjointed and hard to follow, Hair combated this well by creating alliances between most of the main characters allowing him to combine narratives and let the reader/listener just enjoy the story.
the magic systems are well developed and very interesting . in fantasy novels how the magic works is just as important to me as how the characters work, Hair did a really good job of developing both at the same time and not allowing anyone thing to become stagnant.
cant wait to see how it ends this would make an excellent series for HBO or even movies
Nick Podehl was incredible, great narrator he was one of the main reasons i started this series and he didn't disappoint...if you haven't checked out anything else by him i would check out "The name of the wind by Patrick Rothfuss" or " This book is full of spiders by David Wong" your ears will thank you
worth the credit and your time!

extremely violent and satisfyingly gory
Revisado: 08-19-15
the story is relentless, grabbing the readers attention from the beginning and throwing the tension switch to maximum in the first few pages. The story was a little different then some of the other Kilborn stuff i have read, In other stories we get a little more backstory about the protagonists/victims before the real party gets started, not in this one: the screaming starts and where right there with the characters trying to figure out why and what exactly is going on. the pacing was good each scene felt necessary to the story either upping the intensity or developing the plot.
A solid performance by Phil Gigante, great narrator and he really brought the story to life, if you like this checkout Jeremy Robinson's Secondworld, he did a great job with that!
As far as this series goes Endurance is my favorite in the set, but this was a close second and I'll defiantly listen to it again.
looking at these 1 star reviews i have a hard time seeing how they read the same book. Most of the people that gave this book 1 star are complaining about the graphic violence and some of them didn't finish the book, its like they didn't even read the synopsis, its a real shame because the irreverent dismissive reviews skew the rating, i mean it says the story is gory in the epitome...know what your getting into before you buy the book., so people that want a good slasher book know where to find the good ones !
