Historia
Lila Nash is on the verge of landing her dream job - working as a prosecutor under the Hennepin County Attorney - and has settled into a happy life with her boyfriend, Joe Talbert. But when a woman is pulled from the Mississippi River, barely alive, things in the office take a personal turn. The police believe the woman’s assailant is local photographer Gavin Spenser, but the case quickly flounders as the evidence wears thin. It seems Gavin saw this investigation coming - and no one can imagine how carefully he has prepared.

Amazing! Could not put down
Revisado: 04-28-25
Loved the book. Could not put it down. Have read most in the series. Skipped 2 books in the middle. I’d read an entire series on L’s story/perspective. Could not put this one down. Very well put together.

Enchanting story
Revisado: 02-12-25
Great story would love to read a series about side characters like Lucy the sister or the Earl etc. The story is slightly different. First regency type story wherein the protagonist isn’t a blushing debutant. However the rest, the in disguise duke, the charming though crumbling inn, etc are fantastic. Loves the story.

Creepy & dark
Revisado: 11-30-23
This is the 4th book I’ve read from the author. Likely my last. The 3 prior all have some element of something bad happening to kids / minors. This one almost gives “the family upstairs” a run for its money. This one is so dark and sad and just creepy. I would pass.

This one drags and drags
Revisado: 05-29-22
I read the first story and loved it. This story, where do I start? It took weeks to finish because the plot just dragged. *Spoilers* we meet the protagonists (Taylor) as she’s about to be kidnapped. She escapes. Suffers a head injury and loses her memory. We then meet Rafe the bounty hunter. A very long story short Rafe runs into Taylor and apparently he knew her from her past. He was engaged to her sister who left him at the alter. But Rafe hates Taylor who at age 14 somehow was the cause of his relationship breaking up. But now he sees Taylor and is instantly attracted to her (YUCK). He acknowledges that she was to be his “little sister” and he has loving memories with her. But now he’s lusting over her. She’s into him too. The whole time he won’t really tell her anything if her past and she just accepts it (WTH) if I lost my memory I’d badger anyone that could help but she’s like “‘meh ok”. At the end her sister appears. Rafe is over her bc he wants little sick yuck (she’s like 22) and they end up together. Oh Taylor was engaged to someone else and Rafe knew the whole time. Jurist a creepy story.

Great story
Revisado: 04-21-22
Enjoyed the story. The last chapter and epilogue were odd though. Unnecessary. Spoiler alert. The last chapter is Devin and Kathleen back at estate home and she’s 7 months pregnant and the entire chapter is irrelevant. Doesn’t make sense though. There’s no mention of their first child. In Helen’s story as it starts and Helen is single, Kathleen is newly pregnant hence her hasty marriage with Devin. In Pandora’s story a now married Helen has just given birth to her son with Winterborne. Which means Kathleen too should have given birth. Anyways this was glaring to me that Kathleen is 7 months and she’s having some random conversations with Devin that’s irrelevant to the story and there’s no mention of their first child. Then the epilogue is just a short summary of how happy Cassandra is with her new family. Story should have ended with Severin recovering , the pploodle dog and the I Love You.
