Historia
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Yawn 😴 this story is a true bore. From the mundane narrator to the story. Worst story I’ve listened to on audible.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Neil Gaiman you enrich my life, nobody writes or reads a story better than you!
Revisado: 03-16-17
I really enjoyed listening to Neil Gaiman read Norse Mythology.
I am so happy that I listened to American Gods (at least a half dozen times) before listening to this book (not that you need too, I listened to American Gods well before I knew of Norse Mythology) ☺
I was familiar with many of the characters in Norse Mythology having been introduced to them in American Gods and it made this book much more fun to listen too; learning about their creation, the families, their talents, their strengths and weaknesses and then their deaths and rebirths.
Thank you for all of the characters, adventures, thrills, fear and other imaginations you create in this aging mind of mine.

Historia
Roland Deschain and his ka-tet are bearing southeast through the forests of Mid-World, the almost timeless landscape that seems to stretch from the wreckage of civility that defined Roland's youth to the crimson chaos that seems the future's only promise. Followers of Stephen King's epic series know Roland well, or as well as this enigmatic hero can be known. They also know the companions who have been drawn to his quest for the Dark Tower: Eddie Dean and his wife, Susannah; Jake Chambers; and Oy.

This story will take you Todash!
Revisado: 04-18-16
First, I would like to applaud George Guidall for doing a wonderful job narrating this and the remaining books of The Dark Tower series. Imagine trying to step into a series such as this originally narrated by the likes of Frank Mueller!
We listeners were blessed to have Frank Mueller develop the characters voices and personalities the way that he did. I feel as if George Guidall has done the same thing, your loss if you don't listen to the remaining books narrated by him 😐
Stephen Kings mind is amazing, I wonder sometimes how he sleeps at night; there must be so words constantly running through his brain.
This book is so fantastically bizarre, it has more than one flavor (do ya kennet, cully?) everything on the plate is touching 😊

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

Revisado: 08-01-15
Lenny Henry did an amazing job narrating this book. I have listened to it several times. Neil Gaiman never lets me down. The story was fun and adventurous; full of interesting human characters, creatures from other realms and my favorite forgotten Gods.

Historia
In the fourth installment of The Dark Tower, Roland and his band have narrowly escaped the city of Lud and boarded Blaine, a train that will take them to, of all places, Kansas, where the ghost city of Topeka has been depopulated by a superflu and where, alongside Interstate 70, an emerald palace rises enchantingly. Before Roland and the companions of his ka-tet continue along the Path of the Beam, Roland must tell his companions the tale that defines him both as a man and hero.

Historia
In The Wind Through the Keyhole, Stephen King has returned to the rich landscape of Mid-World. This story within a story within a story finds Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, in his early days during the guilt-ridden year following his mother’s death. Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape-shifter, a "skin-man", Roland takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast’s most recent slaughter.

This book helped with The Dark Tower withdrawals!
Revisado: 05-06-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I absolutely enjoyed The Dark Tower Series.....I was really disappointed when I had listened to all of the books, wondering "okay, now what do I listen too!?" Days later I came across The Wind Through the Keyhole: The Dark Tower 4.5 it helped me get through my Dark Tower withdrawals. Stephen King is amazing as usual. Listen to books 1 - 7 then listen to this story "4.5". If you start with it you could stumble on it's meaning.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked hearing about what happened to Roland Dechain, once he returned home from Mejis. It was important character information that was left out between books 4 and 5.
What about Stephen King’s performance did you like?
It took me some time to accept Stephen Kings storytelling style. He is not, at all, good at changing voices from one character to another and it even sounded as if he was plugging his nose for one character. Because I was so interested in the story I was finally able to get past his poor narration. He is a MUCH better writer than a narrator.

Historia
In the traditional folktale of Sleeping Beauty, the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. It is an ancient story, one that originally emerged from and still deeply disturbs the mind's unconscious. Now Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I haven't found it if ratings exists, if they do this is definitely Rated R for RAUNCHY, RAW and RIDICULOUS. Anne Rice what got into you with this book?
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I did get far enough to make that judgement. Not my style of read.
