Regency Romance with an Overture of Spirits

A beautifully wrought blend of regency romance with just the right amount of spookiness for an October listen. I loved every minute!
I was worried, at first, that I would be distracted by the fact that I've heard this narrator read other books...but I totally forgot about that in this captivatingly read narrative.

To be fair now, I would read Ms. Gail's grocery list. But the accents in this had me swooning. And the fact that it extends into the adult versions of her YA novel left me pulling out my fan to cool my blushes.

Great listen for a road-trip

Fun, silly, cozy murder with a spunky author hero

I'm a fan of the cozy mysteries. I don't have to work hard to overlook that everywhere the hero goes, she stumbles across a body. This is a fun example of the genre with the added appeal of the author/hero NOT being 22, blonde, and perky. As a woman beyond that, I can appreciate the extra curves and the extra experience Viola brings to her sleuthing.
I started book 2 and it was BETTER than book 1. A little shorter, a little more succinct, but fun and busy.
