Historia
There are lures irresistible regardless of peril, because some yearnings renounce all wisdom. There are bonds that compel no matter how faraway, because some needs are dire enough to defy all cost. But when reason, distance, and danger go unheeded, that price can be devastating despite all the magic in one’s grasp.

Chilling new perspective
Revisado: 05-12-25
In A Sister to Butterflies, Aaron Christopher Drown reimagines the story of a fairy godmother through a chilling narrative steeped in darkness, personal transformation, and the ever-present weight of shadow. With lyrical prose and haunting imagery, Drown leads readers down a path where magic is both a gift and a burden, and growth often comes at a harrowing cost. This is a fairy tale turned inside out.

Interesting, not bad
Revisado: 05-25-15
Easy-moving, cliche language and dialogue, but overall a decent way to spend a rainy afternoon.

John Glover is not James Marsters.
Revisado: 11-16-11
As a reader who must drive anywhere from 2-7 hours in a work day, I have recently discovered the true value of audio books. Jim Butcher has been my best friend for several years now, first with the edge of your seat, gotta-love-it Codex of Alera series, then with the ever lovable and amazing Dresden Files. With the Codex of Alera, I thought Kate Reading was an AMAZING reader. THEN...I discovered James Marsters. The man should be a voice actor, forever and always. To me, and my friends and family with whom I enthusiastically share my favorite stories, Marsters became more than the performer for the Dresden Files. He IS the voice of Harry Dresden. After the first twelve books flew by me in a haze of laughing out loud, crying, and bouncing my foot in anticipation of Harry's survival, the performance of the 13th was a terrible disappointment. I mean no disrespect to John Glover, who probably could have made an impression as a voice performer had it not been for the situation, but he made Harry sound something like the cartoon character Snoops from Disney's The Rescuers. It was not a good match, because the story itself was just as awesome, if not more so, than the rest of the series. All in all, I wound up dropping the audiobook altogether and finishing the story through the hardback in an overnight reading haul.
