Historia
Young Richard Antoine White and his mother don't have a key to a room or a house. Sometimes they have shelter, but they never have a place to call home. Still, they have each other, and Richard believes he can look after his mother, even as she struggles with alcoholism and sometimes disappears, sending Richard into loops of visiting familiar spots until he finds her again. And he always does - until one night, when he almost dies searching for her in the snow and is taken in by his adoptive grandparents.

Amazing Life Story
Revisado: 10-23-21
I listened to a NPR program about this book and it just sounded like something I wanted to read. I was not disappointed. While I usually rate the audiobooks I never write reviews. This book made me laugh and cry. Richard Antoine White is someone that i would want as a friend. He has lead a remarkable but certainly not an easy life. Listening to him what he has written was a joy. He has achieved what he set out to do and his future seems limitless. Very inspiring!

Historical novel that reads like a true story
Revisado: 04-03-19
The audio sample of this book does not due it justice. In fact if I only had that to go by a never would have read it. Through journals and letters the author weaves the narrative of an early explorer to the territory of Alaska and his wife. We also hear the voices of his nephew and museum director who is part Indian as the make sense of it all. Along the way we learn about the Alaskan territory, it’s spirits, beauty and hardships during a time of great change.
