Historia
Dodger Stadium is an American icon. But the story of how it came to be goes far beyond baseball. The hills that cradle the stadium were once home to three vibrant Mexican American communities. In the early 1950s, those communities were condemned to make way for a utopian public housing project. Then, in a remarkable turn, public housing in the city was defeated amidst a Red Scare conspiracy.

This was nothing about baseball. The worse story that I’m not sure was even factual as it wanted you to perceive it to be.

Could not get excited about a family history.
Revisado: 04-24-17
What disappointed you about Three Weeks with My Brother?
Boring, and uneventful. Who wants to listen about a man and his marriage to his wife and his brother and their trip. What little the trip was written about.
Would you ever listen to anything by Nicholas Sparks and Micah Sparks again?
Probably not.
Would you be willing to try another one of Henry Leyva’s performances?
Yes
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointed in the story line
Any additional comments?
Enough said.

Historia
Biking from Oregon to Maine is no small feat, especially for two newly retired women who carry everything they need for three months, powered only by the strength of their legs and a desire for adventure. Alice Honeywell and Bobbi Montgomery invite listeners to follow their ride by bicycle across the United States, as they face scorching sun, driving rain, buffeting winds, equipment failures, killer hills, wild fires, and even a plague of grasshoppers.

"Unvarnished. Funny. Leaving no stone unturned"...So say the publishers about this audiobook I've written. What I say is that this is the story of my life, told as clear as a Texas sky and in the same rhythm that I lived it. It's a story of restlessness and the purity of the moment and living right. Of my childhood in Abbott, Texas, to the Pacific Northwest, from Nashville to Hawaii, and all the way back again. Of selling vacuum cleaners and encyclopedias while hosting radio shows and writing song after song, hoping to strike gold.

Historia
Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Bored with it
Revisado: 01-08-13
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I just couldn't get into this book. It wasn't at all what I was expecting
What do you think your next listen will be?
Not sure.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of David LeDoux and John Randolph Jones ?
I'm not sure.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No
Any additional comments?
Better to say nothing, than say anything at all.
