Historia
It’s easy to be yourself when who and what you are is in vogue. But growing up Black and gay in America has never been easy. Before Billy Porter was slaying red carpets and giving an iconic performance in the celebrated TV show Pose; before he was the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway’s Kinky Boots; and before he was an acclaimed recording artist, actor, playwright, and all-around diva, Porter was a young boy who didn’t fit in.

I looked the story. The Billy could only be narrated bt Mr. Porter. He seemed to have presented his story with grace passion and acceptance. May the Sun and moon continue to shine on him and all his truth touches.

I could not stop listening to the story. She details her life and Chicago in a manner that is believable. She shares the facts to support the civil rights statement that "ordinary people can do extraordinary things." One of my favorite memories was President Obama's proposal.

I loved this book because I felt he had opened to share his story, which was shared by many. The US needs a reconciliation process to move from the darkness we live in.

Historia
This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal, and long dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.
