Historia
For the first time, Hillary Rodham Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history. Now free from the constraints of running, Hillary takes you inside the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules. This is her most personal memoir yet.

Historia
After four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia and takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, nearly half a day’s journey from the coast. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes once a season, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. Years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel hears a baby’s cries on the wind. A boat has washed up onshore carrying a dead man and a living baby.

Great story, disappointing narration.
Revisado: 12-09-17
I loved this book. It was a very heartbreaking story on so many levels and I found myself very involved with the characters. I found Noah Taylor’s performance disappointing, primarily because so often he would swallow the ends of sentences and it was really difficult to decipher the words even at the highest volume.

Historia
From best-selling author Alice Hoffman comes a love story about one of history’s most captivating ‘invisible’ women: Rachel, the mother of impressionist painter Camille Pissarro. Growing up on idyllic St. Thomas in the early 1800s, Rachel dreams of life in faraway Paris. Rachel’s mother, a pillar of their small refugee community of Jews who escaped the Inquisition, has never forgiven her daughter for being a difficult girl who refuses to live by the rules.

Historia
It's Dr. Kay Scarpetta's birthday, and she's about to head to Miami for a vacation with Benton Wesley, her FBI profiler husband, when she notices seven pennies on a wall behind their Cambridge house. Is this a kids' game? If so, why are all of the coins dated 1981 and so shiny they could be newly minted? Her cellphone rings, and Detective Pete Marino tells her there's been a homicide five minutes away. A high school music teacher has been shot with uncanny precision as he unloaded groceries from his car.

Self indulgent writing.
Revisado: 12-08-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I would agree with many of the other reviewers here - this is so tired and so self indulgent on Patricia Cornwell's part. I can't remember the last time I read one of her books where the action was not centred directly on Scarpetta and those close to her, full of suspicion and innuendo. It is getting really old. I was hoping for the brilliant murder mysteries Cornwell used to write but it seems she cannot write a plot without making it all about the main characters.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I will not be reading any more Kay Scarpetta and I would strongly suggest you save your time and money and give this one a miss. I only finished it because I was pissed off I'd paid $24.95 for it.
What didn’t you like about Lorelei King’s performance?
Awful narration. Very off-putting, inappropriate inflection. Just made a terrible story worse and very hard to listen to.

Historia
There's nothing quite like a child's sense of wonder. Inspired by the pioneering work of Dr. Hal Stone and Dr. Sidra Winkelman (authors of Embracing Our Selves and Embracing Each Other), Shakti Gawain invites us to get to know the eternal child that lives within each of us. Though often a neglected aspect of ourselves, the inner child can become a rejuvenating source of joy, creativity, and self-healing. Through regular use of the exercises described here, you will create an unforgettable relationship with a magical part of yourself.

Revisado: 10-24-10
This is a short audiobook but I found it to be an excellent insight into the issues and emotions that we face in our daily lives. I've always avoided the idea of an "inner child" affecting who I am today, however, a number of issues have led me to explore this, and I think Shakti Gawain's book is a practical, down to earth look at what might be governing the decisions and action we take. At only 45mins it is worth taking the time to listen to.

Recommended to those struggling with weight loss
Revisado: 10-24-10
Although the authour, Geneen Roth, has a rather annoying voice (somewhat whining and babyish), the message in her books is excellent. As someone who has struggled with weight issues for a very long time, her take on it is very different from most, but made complete sense to me. I would recommend listening to this and her other books. You get used to her voice after a while and what remains is a way to explore the deeper issues associated with food.

Revisado: 05-06-10
Pema Chodron is the most wonderful speaker. She has a lovely lilting, relaxing voice and what she says is well worth listening to. These sessions, recorded at a retreat, will give the listener lots of common sense, practical advice that they can really use to make their busy lives more spiritual. Highly recommended!
