Narrator from hell
Revisado: 10-23-20
I love this book and was so excited to get it on Audible. This narrator is horrible. So boring on such an exciting story. And with a couple of the characters, he made them sound downright perverted the way they talked. I am not sure I will be able to finish this book with him narrating.

It just keeps getting worse
Revisado: 09-28-20
Feist is one of my favorite authors. I have read all of his books through Magicians End. I have been purchasing the audible versions of these books and the narrators keep getting worse with each change. This author is, by far, the worst one so far. As much as I did not like Meagher, Richard Ferrone is even worse. I love the story but the mispronunciations, dragging narration and no variation between characters is horrible. And as much as Meagher sped through the last book, Ferrone is reading like he is in mud.
To the story, I love these books and this one is no let down when I read it but this narrator is really ruining the book for me. I don't have time to sit around and read so I listen to Audible while I work instead of music. I am looking at all the money I have wasted on poor narration of really good books.

Ugh the narrator
Revisado: 09-28-20
It just keeps getting worse with these books. The original narrator for the Riftwar Saga was amazing. I loved his various voices and he even did well with the women. Then the narrator that started with The Prince of the Blood was so gruff and horrible to listen to. He can't pronounce the simplest names or even simple words. I almost gave up but pushed through. This one though...he is the worst. There is no difference between characters. There is no drama where you would expect it. I could do a better job with reading these books and have when I read them to my son when he was young. I looked at the next book and was so excited to see a new narrator but then we are back to John Meagher for the rest of the books. I am not sure I can sit through more of his reading. I already have books by James Rollins that he almost ruined for me. He reads way too fast, can't pronounce things any better than the narrator before him and is so flat. Did they run out of money to pay a good narrator?
Oh and the Publishers Summary needs correcting. Queen Miranda of the Elves? She is not the queen nor is she even an elf.

THAT NARRATOR!!!
Revisado: 07-26-20
The story is alright, not a favorite but i love the author. The narrator is awful. He can't even pronounce names properly. Toe-Mass? Lysol? So many things were said incorrectly over and over. I want to listen to the rest but ugh, this guy.

The narrator makes is SO bad.
Revisado: 07-23-20
This is not one of my favorite books but I like to read/listen to them in order. The narrator is awful and his pronunciations are horrendous. He cannot pronounce normal words and his pronunciation of names is even worse. Aroota? Ugh. I am not sure I want to listen to the next books he narrates in this series.

Poor narration
Revisado: 07-09-20
So far, I have listened to all the Sigma Force series up to this point. This narration was very disappointing. I am only halfway through and I am hoping that this is the only one Baskous narrates. His "accents" are ridiculous. His Italian accents sound almost Jamaican and his Asian accents are offensive caricatures of Asians.

I love this series and was really looking forward to the Audible version so I could do things while listening to the book. It sounds like someone is doing color commentary at a horse race of football game. it was not what I had hoped for.

Bellatrix is French? Really?
Revisado: 12-05-19
I am confused as to why Bellatrix has a French accent. Her cousin, her aunt, even her sister, all have British Accents. But because her husband has a French name she is suddenly French? And because of this, Cissy has a French accent too? It makes no sense unless he is giving them those accents to differentiate them from other women? It is unsettling. Everyone in her blood family is British.

Love it but have issues
Revisado: 12-05-19
Across all 7 books, I have an issue with how Jim Dale speaks for Hermione. He makes her sound like a whiney, insipid girl. He also pronounces her name as Harmawney when Harry, Ron or most people say it. The only one I hear him pronounce it right is as Hagrid.
Regarding this book, he cannot say Leprecauns to save his life. He says Leprecorns as if they have horns coming out of their forehead.
Aside from that, I love hearing him read the books. I can turn them on and listen when I am driving. I also go to sleep hearing him read them. He is relaxing and has a soothing voice.
