Historia
You wouldn’t think events happening years apart, at points in the solar system hundreds of millions of miles distant, would have anything to do with each other. When she was six, Daphne was taken into a neighbor’s tool shed and came within seconds of never coming out alive. Most of the scars healed. Except for the one that went all the way through. You wouldn’t think that the serial murders of children and the one who got away would have any connection with the strange fate of one of Jupiter’s moons.

Good story, bad narration
Revisado: 08-04-22
I really wanted to listen to this story because I've heard good things about it. Even though a lot of reviews talked about how bad the narrator was I decided to listen anyway. I figured it couldn't be that bad, I was wrong, it was so bad! It was like one continual sentence the entire story. Even when the author switched characters there was not even a break just continual talking, no change in character voice to indicate that we have switched from the brother to the sister. It would go minutes into a chapter before I realized we had switched. Sooo bad! Story was good, but by the end I was ready for it to be over and didn't care about the story anymore.

Delightfully sad and thought provoking horror
Revisado: 12-25-20
People is a collection of short stories that make you think about them long after they are finished. Not all of these stories are horrifying some are more sad and chilling then scary or gory. While most deal with themes that could be considered horror (vampires, ghosts, aliens, etc...) some go in a different direction. I mean it says it right there in the title Love, Loss, Life & Things That Go Bump in the Night is really an apt description.
This was a beautiful collection, I really liked it and recommend it to anyone that likes short stories or is looking for something a little different in their horror. As with all short story collections some were better than others, but I thought they were all good. I listened to part of this on Audible at work and the narrator did a great job!
Here are my top four stories. I give them all 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
💀Tell Me I’m Pretty: This is the longest tale and one of the more melancholy stories in the book about a man that is house sitting for rich friends when he meets a beautiful and unusual girl that seems to come and go without making a sound.
💀The Veil: this is a short one about what some people would do to hear from the ones they love after they have passed one. It was so good and sad!
💀Kiwi: about a woman that makes haunted dolls
💀What Would Batman Do? A boy in elementary school notices a girl he doesn't know leaving the principal's office. He had the feeling something has happened to her and sets out to find out what it is.

Wow....what a story!!
Revisado: 05-15-20
This one just punched me in the face, kicked my in the ribs and then went on to try and make me cry. I was not prepared. There were a few scenes where I tried to cover my eyes then realized I was listening to an audiobook so that wasn't going to help 😳😢😭💀
Ok, so the Audible vision of this was given to me by Mr. Duke a couple of days ago and I wanted to give it an honest review. It's a short one but it packs a big punch. I feel like this story is very relevant right now.
Kendall and Krystal take their infant son to the beach for Memorial Day. What starts as a fun day rapidly changes when they are caught in the middle of a stand off protest between Antifa and some Nazi a**holes. Now the Nazi's are after the family and they will do anything to get Krystal and her child because they are what the Nazi's hate, a mixed race family with what they think of as an "abomination" for a child.
This was a fantastic story! Fast paced and very will written. But it is definitely in the extreme horror category. Lots and lots of graphic violence and two scenes that will stick with me for awhile.
**small spoiler ahead**
Remember American History X? Remember THAT scene, the one with the curb? Yeah......so when something similar happens here that's when I covered my eyes while listening to an audiobook. I hated that scene in ther movie and I hated it here. I get why it was there but man does that make me hurt just thinking about it!! 💀
I definitely recommend this one to people that like extreme horror books. It made me feel happy, sad, angry, sick and heartbroken all in the space of an hour and a half. I'm going to listen to his book Low next because I've heard great things about it.

Historia
The internet is a scary place. Beneath Facebook and Twitter is another world. One in which anything can be obtained - for a price. A community of black markets, depraved pornography, and death. This is the dark web. Leon was just curious. He had heard the stories of the secrets and forbidden fetishes that the dark web offered. He was an activist, protesting against war and hate. But after a protest became violent, he felt he needed protection. Being a teenager with no way to buy a gun legally, he had no choice but to turn to the dark web.

Gory and extreme
Revisado: 02-18-20
An eldritch Lovecraftian god and a cult of depraved followers that find victims using the dark web. Gods of the Dark Web is a short, mean and brutal story about the horrors of the dark web and the vile things that may take place there. This is the urban legend/creepypasta like version of what might be lurking on the dark web. We should all be a little more careful about meeting strange people we found on the internet. I love anything that has to do with the dark web/Internet horror so i just had to read this one when I heard about it.
There are a few moments in this book that were very gory and extreme so be warned if you have trouble with gore and violence.
Note: I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for this unbiased review
