Historia
Open All the Way marks Sadie Smythe's foray into long-range storytelling. Most well known for her outspoken commentary on her blog, about relationship paradigms and the navigation through her own alternative arrangement with her husband Scott, Sadie is very excited to offer her loyal readers a larger-lensed view into her openly married life. Each chapter of Open All the Way is an individual story in itself. But the combined ensemble compellingly chronicles her journey.

Exceptional book far beyond its topic
Revisado: 03-31-21
So while this book focuses on an often taboo topic, with its sexy facets and challenges, but it's so much more.
While it breaks down and dives into polyamory from the experience of the author, it goes far beyond that really getting to its core; intimacy and the quest for it. Sophie's vulnerability in the chapter named after her is clear and palpable with sincere heartache and hope.
My expectations were outstandingly exceeded and I walked away with not only knowledge, but an investment in looking inward at times rather than outward.
Thank you, Sophie Smythe!

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Holy fking hell
Revisado: 10-30-19
This book, given the proper mindset of discipline, hardening, and follow through, will change your life; you could end this review there, but it deserves more.
Goggins bears his fucking soul in this book like nobody’s business. Remember that time you shit your pants in your twenties and it embarrassed the hell out of you? How about when you quit on yourself time and time again to where your string of failures is what you are ashamed of?
I do.
Goggins basically takes that kind of situation that and turns it on its head as a lesson through analysis and self reflection, not only that but he unapologetically owns his shit to build success of of his failures and teaches us methods to do the same.
As someone past the point of reenlisting and trying for BUDS, I'm looking at how I can apply these methods to life in my forties and feeling excited for the challenge.

Historia
Decades before the American Revolution, Benjamin Franklin lamented that English settlers were constantly fleeing over to the Indians - but Indians almost never did the same. Tribal society has been exerting an almost gravitational pull on Westerners for hundreds of years, and the reason lies deep in our evolutionary past as a communal species. The most recent example of that attraction is combat veterans who come home to find themselves missing the incredibly intimate bonds of platoon life.

A must-read for veterans
Revisado: 07-19-17
This book addresses the core issue facing many veterans. We need to find purpose in life, without that purpose we run on empty.
