Historia
In Deal with the Devil, five-time Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Peter Lance draws on once-secret FBI files and exclusive new interviews to disclose the epic saga of Colombo family capo Gregory Scarpa, Sr., who spent more than 30 years as a paid Top-Echelon FBI informant while wreaking havoc as a drug dealer, loan shark, bank robber, hijacker, high-end securities thief - and killer. A Mafia capo who "stopped counting" after 50 murders, Greg Scarpa was enlisted by the FBI as early as 1960.

Great!
Revisado: 07-26-19
I am NOT a diehard fan of Motley Crue, but I loved this book and have a lot of respect for those guys. The narration was some of the best I’ve ever heard when it’s come to audiobooks. Roger Wayne, you crushed it as Tommy Lee. This is story packed full of energy and it’s like riding a roller coaster.

Horrible narration. I also didn’t realize that this book would have any kind of political slant. Book is filled with Bible quotes.

Historia
A brilliant, authoritative, and fascinating history of America’s most puzzling era, the years 1920 to 1933, when the U.S. Constitution was amended to restrict one of America’s favorite pastimes: drinking alcoholic beverages. Okrent reveals how Prohibition marked a confluence of diverse forces, including the growing political power of the women’s suffrage movement and the fear of small-town, native-stock Protestants that they were losing control of their country to the immigrants of the large cities.

Annoying music!

There is annoying music in between each story. The narrator also mispronounces names constantly. The whole thing was hard to listen to.

It is the most famous military installation in the world. And it doesn't exist. Located a mere s75 miles outside of Las Vegas in Nevada's desert, the base has never been acknowledged by the US government - but Area 51 has captivated imaginations for decades. Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to 19 men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to 55 additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, 32 of whom lived and worked there for extended periods.

Loved it!
Revisado: 01-13-17
I just finished this book and I was amazed at how "non-conspiracy theory" this book was. I mean this book had interviews with one of the guys who worked at the site during the Manhatten Project, a guy who helped recover the Roswell craft(not a weather balloon, but also not aliens), U-2 and SR-71 pilots and a couple of base commanders who ran the place. It really explains what they do there and why it's kept secret. Yes, she talked about UFOs, but only about what they really were and how the US Government pretended to look into them. It largely discusses how the CIA operates covert weapons programs with little oversight. The only point it got conspiracy like was in the last 20-30 minutes when she discussed the Roswell incident with another man who was there and what the "alien bodies" really were and why the truth wasn't told to the public. If you have a serious interest in Area 51, conspiracies and the Cold War then this book is for you.
