It’s not about Mexico
Revisado: 09-28-24
The first two episodes are not about Mexico. I’m not going to listen further, since I am interested in learning about Mexican history.

Wanted to like it but could not get there
Revisado: 05-15-23
I love historical nonfiction and also love a good novel. Was hoping this would be the best of both genres rolled into one, But alas is was not at all gripping and a bit stilted. I stopped about a third of the way in. Anderson Cooper is an excellent reporter, Tacking this topic must have been very difficult emotionally but this resulted in an emotionally distant narrative.

Historia
In 1911, a relatively unknown physicist named Albert Einstein published his preliminary theory of gravity. But it hadn't been tested. To do that, he needed a photograph of starlight as it passed the sun during a total solar eclipse. So began a nearly decade-long quest by seven determined astronomers from observatories in four countries, who traveled the world during five eclipses to capture the elusive sight. Over the years, they faced thunderstorms, the ravages of a world war, lost equipment, and local superstitions.

Dull
Revisado: 04-03-23
Not interesting at all. Just a bunch of names and facts all plopped together with little character development, few insights and no connectivity to a theme. I kept hoping it would get better but I’m stopping at chapter 7.

Informative but a bit disjointed
Revisado: 11-28-22
There were many things about Ike that were interesting and illuminating. But several times I had to re-listen to make sure I understood the point. Also, chapter titles are not always clear about chapter contents. I liked the quotes at the start of each chapter, but sometimes there was nothing in the chapter related to the quote, and sometimes the quotes were from a different point in history than the chapter was covering.
