Creative idea, well-written, excellent performance

Wow! This drew me in quickly and kept going!
I imagine this fits in the young adult category - part fantasy - part coming of age. Very well-written.
Outstanding performance by voice actor - she has amazing control of her voice to create subtle accents, voice textures, etc.
I'm looking forward to the next two books in this series.

Extraordinary book!
Philosophy and Greek mythology seamlessly woven into the story.
Story and characters revealed in layers and many parallelisms in characters, plots, and ideas.
Vivid characters who are relatable.
Voice acting by Gabra Zackman is amazing -- a clear example of the difference between voice acting and mere narration.
I'll seek out more books both by Derek B. Miller and by Gabra Zackman.

creative idea, science plausible, well-narrated

this was a really fun read. I had never heard of the author before, but he writes very well, the characters are developed but not overdeveloped, there was drama and suspense, and the concepts were reasonably plausible. The narrators we're excellent as well. I will pursue the rest of this First Contact series. The idea of this series to explore how first contact might happen at different times in human history is creative.

very interesting insight into Lee Child

The short stories in this volume are good but not always great and the child acknowledges that in the forward. they are very interesting though in showing some of the ways he thinks about writing stories. I enjoyed this for the stories, the performance, and the insight.

an unusual and fun Odyssey type journey - the characters were well developed and funny, and the journey had good twists and was not predictable.
the narration was outstanding!

good mix of tale and tactics

character was interesting and relatable. the story had good twists and turns.
narrator performed very well.
author must have been in the army before becoming a writer.
he's a good writer and should keep doing it!
I'm looking forward to the next in the series!
