I've read the first 4 books of this series so far, and it's been great.

The story and worldbuilding are good, the action is solid, and the characters are well fleshed out.

The narration is good, with the caveat being that I've often caught the narrator saying what is clearly the wrong word. This should have been caught in editing.

Fun story, scatterbrained writing

I stuck through the entire series, so it's not that bad. The characters and story are fun.

There are enough mistakes and internal inconsistencies to warrant a demerit on my overall score for the books. The MC is in a magic college, and for a for a while the author mistakenly referred him as a third year, when he was actually a second year, only to correct it later on.

One of his major spells has a restriction placed on it, which the author conveniently forgets later, but only some of the time.

Stuff like that.

I'm a fan of Ivan Kal's Infinite Realm series.

The writing in this book is nothing like that. It reads like a neophyte's work. Truck-kun sends this guy to isekai land and he's immediately thrust face-first into a stone-cold gorgeous love interest who throws herself at him. Lots of "oh you're so strange" and "nobody gets my references!".

The narrator isn't doing us any favors, either. Pass on this one.

I think the narrator detracted from this book. It seems to be a case of "let's find somebody of the same race and gender as my main character", but her overall skill was not good. She did know how to pronounce the occasional Spanish word though. I recall that she used another word when the author clearly used (or meant to use) the word 'exacerbated'. My primary criticism is that her voice acting lacked much in the way of acting or emotion.

I feel like I'm unfairly judging the content simply because the MC in this book is like Ryun from the author's Infinite Realm series. Ryun is a favorite of mine, but there's too much overlap when the two series have an MC that steals power from their opponents and quickly regenerates.

By the end of it though, I was interested in continuing into the second book, which is a rarity for a book that I give a lower overall rating to.

Do you want a protagonist who stumbles from good fortune to good fortune? Would you like their problems to be solved deus ex machina? Would you like to be incessantly infodumped on cultivation? Do you want to have it narrated to you by Mr. Sleepytime?

Look no further!

For all of its faults, I did finish this book. And since I already purchased the second (doh!), I'm actually going to start that one to see if it improves. Who knows? Condemning the Heavens did. Then again, I could be wasting who knows how many times it takes an incense stick to burn by continuing.
