Narration Makes It
Revisado: 02-24-24
Loved this book and am astonished at how well all the identities were narrated. Looked forward to hearing it each time I got in the car. Highly recommend.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Performance Makes the Story
Revisado: 03-19-23
I have had this book in my TBR pile for years, but the sample made me purchase it on Audible. It did not disappoint. The narration is better than anything I could have read on paper.

Historia
Arlo Dilly is young, handsome, and eager to meet the right girl. He also happens to be DeafBlind, a Jehovah’s Witness, and under the strict guardianship of his controlling uncle. His chances of finding someone to love seem slim to none. And yet, it happened once before: Many years ago, at a boarding school for the Deaf, Arlo met the love of his life—a mysterious girl with onyx eyes and beautifully expressive hands which told him the most amazing stories. But tragedy struck, and their love was lost forever.

Great Performance, Sweet Story
Revisado: 01-22-23
It was hard for me to get into this but man, did I really want it all to work out for Arlo, Cyril, Molly, Hanne, and Snap. So glad I listened to this and the author made the narration so compelling.
