I really wanted to like this book

I really wanted to like this book. there was angst and romance and lot of intriguing plot elements. But the pacing felt really off. Also, this is the first book I've read by this author. And there were a lot of characters in here with, no context. so I didn't know who most of them were. I didn't understand sometimes what was going on. I'm going to try some other books by the author and hope going back to this one might make more sense.

Shifter Romance

So my biggest letdown with the book is only that's it's to short. If you haven't read the rest of the series there's something in the water of the town that is turning people into shifters. Lucas can now turn into a wolf. Which isn't so bad until he goes for a run with his dog and they end up caught by his attractive neighbor. So now Lucas needs to sneak away without giving away his new secret.

This is a short story so there's not a lot of substance, but I did enjoy watching these two men start off their relationship. I do really enjoy the concept of the series and am excited to see more shifted townspeople and maybe we'll see some old favorites again as well.

Also, I really enjoyed the narration for this autdiobook. The narrator has a voice I enjoyed and he did an enjoyable job bringing life to these characters.

fun contemporary romance

I read the book before listening to the audiobook. previously I had thought that the story was good but the ending was a little rushed and didn't quite fit. on the relisten I've decided that it's a satisfying ending just not what I wanted. than said, I really love Amit and Miguel, they're both dealing with complicated lives so the plot does not wholey center on them. but that doesn't stop from enjoying their striy and getting to see old friends from previous books

I'm really enjoying getting to know Quentin and Lawrence and watching them learn more about themselves. I'm excited (and certain clues have a made me a bit nervous) about what will happen next. But they're well written books and I'm excited to see what will happen next

This is a great series. I enjoy watching the characters grow into their powers. This one is where we learn more history and things start to get a bit darker. but I can't wait to read the next one. if only to see certain individuals get what they deserve

Brilliant series beginning

I had started this series shortly before the author pulled it down to republish it, and was so happy when I saw it back in the store again and even happier when I realized there were now audiobooks. This is the first book in the slightly dark story of Lawrence and Quentin who are just beginning to realize their gifts. The plot kept me guessing and I really love these characters, cant wait to dive back into this series.

satisfying read

I'm not very into s&m which are all the books this author writes. The rest of the story is so amazing enough that I'm completely happy to read about kinks I don't share. what I do love about this story is that Angelina and Jared have a great relationship and the plot never gets dull. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next. It is best to read this series in order, because several characters from previous books show up.
