Historia
Reading the Old Testament can seem like exploring an old, mysterious mansion, packed with all sorts of strange rooms. What does this odd and ancient world have to do with us, who are modern followers of Jesus? As it turns out, everything! Every chapter in the Old Testament, in a variety of ways, tells the story that culminates in Jesus the Messiah. What Christians today call the Old Testament is what Jesus and the earliest believers simply called the scriptures. That was their Bible.

Masterwork
Revisado: 09-22-23
This book is a masterpiece- an absolutely overwhelming, amazing and mind blowing, heart filling, adventure of seeking first the King and His Kingdom and righteousness. I will listen to this and share many many times over the coming years. Sit back, relax and fill your heart and mind with GOOD news, deeper understanding, and taste and see that the Lord is sooo good!
God bless you Chad!
Side note: Chad's reading performance is among the best you'll hear on an audio book- he reads it like he's delighted, enthusiastic, expressive and joyful- so full of the Holy Spirit!

Historia
Jesus asked His disciples, "Who do you say I am?" It's a question that still needs an answer today. With deft, insightful, and humorous strokes, award-winning biographer Jared Brock weaves archaeology, philosophy, history, and theology to create a portrait of Jesus we've never seen before. This is a groundbreaking biography about the historical Jesus we don't usually think about: The child refugee. The "carpenter" who most likely worked with stone. The adult who walked at least 21,525 miles in His lifetime and yet never tasted tomatoes or potatoes.

The narrator!
Revisado: 08-05-23
I hate to be so harsh because the content of this book is amazing but it's very hard to listen to the narrator/reader. it's almost as bad if a computer read it. I've probably listened to 50-100 audio books and have never had one ruined by a reader until this one. Please have it redone!

Historia
Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker's art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it.

better than I thought!
Revisado: 09-23-19
What an incredibly entertaining, enriching and extraordinary gift. The narrator makes you forget that it's not Donald Trump talking- he reads as if Donald would speak. Knowing the back story puts his presidency in an entirely different light, and makes you appreciate his service to our country even more. He knows how to deal with the best and worst among us, and as alluded to, he is giving back.
With Trump, what you see is what you get. A shrewd, talented and extraordinary businessman, and entrepreneur. Don't miss this book if you're in business!

While American church culture (and American culture at large) seems largely designed for the extroverted, it's estimated that half of the American population is introverted, and they're often left wondering how, even if, they fit in the kingdom of God. As one of them, popular radio host Brant Hansen brings news. It's wonderful, refreshing, and never-been-said-this-way-before good news.

Masterful work. Best narration I've heard. Laugh
Revisado: 06-11-19
One of the best books I've listened to. Funny, profound, inspiring stories and wisdom,. Masterfully narrated (seriously!). Brant, the author is brutally honest, and reveals what's important in life, and what it means to follow Jesus - simply. (not simplistic). The book is full of surprises and encourages anyone who needs it.
The chapters are short so you can listen easily on short commutes. I'm going to listen again soon!

Historia
Even people who are not professing Christians think they are familiar with the story of the Nativity. Every Christmas, displays of Jesus resting in a manger populate lawns and churchyards, and songs about shepherds and angels fill the air. Yet despite the abundance of these Christian references in popular culture, how many of us have examined the hard edges of this biblical story? Timothy Keller takes listeners on an illuminating journey into the surprising background of the Nativity.

Wonderful from beginning to end! Very Biblically sound. Give the best gift of all for Christmas- a clear presentation of the Gospel and an understanding of why the birth of Jesus was God's greatest gift to the world and you.
