The music and atmosphere is superb in battles, and even romantic chapters - but some of the sounds, such as tooth on luxin can be absolutely grating when it continues for long periods. Otherwise great performance and voice acting - inspires chills and tears in the best of ways.

Short and packed with information

In audio book format, the sudden switches from past and present are sometimes jarring and disorienting. Without seeing how it is physically written it is hard to tell if that is due to the narration or by design.

Seems kind of cramped with how much context is crammed into the book - using knowledge from the trilogy to make sense, but can be confusing if it has been awhile since you read the Night Angel trilogy.

Still, an interesting peek into the time prior to the birth of Durzo Blint and the death of Gaelan Starfire.

I re-read or listen to this series once every year or so, always catching things that I missed the first few times through. Michael and Kate do an amazing job bringing the story to life. One of the best fantasy series of our time.

I am an avid fan and reader of the Wheel of Time - having read the books through more than 4 times. Michael always delivers exceptional VO work and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story once more through the lens of his performance.

Phenomenal performance by Jeff

Jeffrey Hayes never ceases to amaze me with his voice work. Dude is truly gifted and his performance draws me in - makes work go by in a flash. The plot is gimmicky and all over the place - and you can truly feel just how badly Carl is breaking and forcing progress. It's uniquely phenomenal. I look forward to any work done by either Jeff or Matt, both exceptionally talented artists.

On the edge of your seat disbelief

The author really hits the nail on the head when it comes to ineptitude and corruption in the government exacting high costs to the nation. Where single individuals can ruin the hope of everyone. The incompetence of these individuals caused me physical pain as I hoped for the survival of my favorite characters, which was never guaranteed.

Infinitely Amusing

Digby and the banter amongst his friends is believable, witty, playful and snide all at the same time. The VA performance is nothing short of impeccable. Can barely wait for the next book.
