Historia
Clive Barker has made his mark on modern fiction by exposing all that is surreal and magical in the ordinary world - and exploring the profound and overwhelming terror that results. With its volatile mix of the fantastical and the contemporary, the everyday and the otherworldly, Weaveworld is an epic work of dark fantasy and horror - a tour de force from one of today's most forceful and imaginative artists.

Loved it

I love this book, I read it many years ago so I decided to try the audiobook, and it was like living it over again. My only complaint was some of the voices used by the narrator that didn’t fit the character based on age or occasionally using the wrong voice from what he had used before. A very minute detail but that’s all I could come up with as a con. Definitely worth a listen/read!

Historia
Odessa Hardwicke's life is derailed when she's forced to turn her gun on her partner, Walt Leppo, a decorated FBI agent who turns suddenly, inexplicably violent while apprehending a rampaging murderer. The shooting, justified by self-defense, shakes the young FBI agent to her core. Devastated, Odessa is placed on desk leave pending a full investigation. But what most troubles Odessa isn't the tragedy itself - it's the shadowy presence she thought she saw fleeing the deceased agent's body after his death.

Absolute Favorite Podcast
Revisado: 01-31-24
If you ever need to smile/laugh, this is the podcast for you. Learn about all sorts of random topics and enjoy the witty banter between Shane and Duncan. The discord for this podcast is also a fantastic place with fantastic people! MFFI has become a big part of my life and helps push back the depression on a regular basis. The older episodes are just as good as the new ones so you can really start anywhere, listen to a couple episodes and you’ll be instantly hooked. Knowledge is power, sleep is overrated!

Historia
Pain, horror, fear - these are the things that have comprised best-selling novelist Lance Metzger's life. His childhood remains a riddled wasteland of abuse by a sadistic father and abandonment by an apathetic mother. In turn his only refuge became his writing. When Lance loses his ability to write and becomes haunted by a nightmare that he'd thought was buried, he is drawn inexplicably to a house on the shores of Lake Superior, where he finds his muse once again - but something is waiting for him when he arrives.

This was beautifully written and narrated, and such a unique story. I had expected a lot of cliches but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s not a story for the faint of heart though as there are some graphic bits, but I was very happy with it.

Historia
Ashford, Vermont, might look like your typical sleepy New England college town, but to the shadowy residents who live among the remains of its abandoned mills and factories, it's known as "Burntown". Eva Sandeski, known as "Necco" on the street, has been a part of this underworld for years, ever since the night her father, Miles, drowned in a flood that left her and her mother, Lily, homeless.

Whimsical in a modern way
Revisado: 05-23-23
I enjoyed it, it felt a little slow sometimes but overall I was fascinated. The narration might have been why it felt slow just because she has a slow way of reading, but she did a good job with the voices and inflections.
