Mixed feelings on this one...

I started this book knowing nothing more than (1) it's about a highly contagious and deadly virus, and (2) I've enjoyed reading other books written by King.
It was super awkward to listen to King's heavy reliance on character stereotypes for almost every character. The worst was his description of racial minorities, women, and the mentally challenged. Specifically, King described black people looking like monkeys, or use of the old black woman "sage" stereotype, or the Asian kid being a savage, or mentally challenged people being too dumb to "foresee" and dumb enough to hypnotize (i.e., vacant/empty vessel/placeholder), or women in general being so frail (with a few notable female exceptions)...
If you can get past all of that, it's a pretty good story about good and evil. Nothing very groundbreaking in my opinion, but it was entertaining enough to finish.

Loved the book so much but...

Still a good story I guess

First, the forward contains major plot spoilers. I have seen the movie, but it was so long ago I'd forgotten some parts. The spoilers played automatically as the first chapter and I was super disappointed.
Second, the voice actress was pleasant to listen to, but the voices she used for all the characters were nearly the same. It was hard to tell who was talking sometimes.
