Historia
In this fifth edition of Basic Economics, Thomas Sowell revises and updates his popular book on commonsense economics, bringing the world into clearer focus through a basic understanding of the fundamental economic principles and how they explain our lives. Drawing on lively examples from around the world and from centuries of history, Sowell explains basic economic principles for the general public in plain English.

Essential listening!

A cogent and very well explained account to equip you to evaluate statements in the media and by politicians. A bullshit inoculation. Excellent work.

Historia
The year is 1714. Daniel Waterhouse has returned to England, where he joins forces with his friend Isaac Newton to hunt down a criminal gang attempting to blow up Natural Philosophers with "Infernal Devices," or time bombs. Unbeknownst to Daniel, however, Newton has an ulterior motive: to wrest the Solomonic Gold from the control of his arch-enemy, the master counterfeiter Jack the Coiner, a.k.a Jack Shaftoe, King of the Vagabonds.

Great series, but the instalments got worse
Revisado: 02-29-20
I've really enjoyed the series in general but I feel the story this time was meandering at a point. This instalment was more of the same but not entirely in a good way. Perhaps the next book will tie it together.

Historia
Geralt the Witcher has fought monsters and demons across the land, but even he may not be prepared for what is happening to his world. The kings and armies are manoeuvring for position, each fearing invasion from across the river, each fearing their neighbours more. Intrigue, dissent and rebellion are on all sides. The Elves and other non-humans are still suffering under decades of repression, and growing numbers join the commando units hidden deep in the forest, striking at will and then dissolving into the trees.

Entertaining enough but teenage interest fantasy
Revisado: 04-03-19
Well narrated. Wasn’t enthralled with the story. His characters are all so sarcastic and catty which I found off-putting. The narrative is okay and that universe is compelling enough.

Historia
If you've ever laughed your way through David Sedaris' cheerfully misanthropic stories, you might think you know what you're getting with Calypso. You'd be wrong. When he buys a beach house on the Carolina coast, Sedaris envisions long, relaxing vacations spent playing board games and lounging in the sun with those he loves most. And life at the Sea Section, as he names the vacation home, is exactly as idyllic as he imagined, except for one tiny, vexing realization: it's impossible to take a vacation from yourself.

Entertaining as ever
Revisado: 03-22-19
David Sedaris is as entertaining and iconoclastic as ever. More stories about later life than younger days but perhaps his young life has already been explored enough in his earlier books. He's an interesting narrator to listen to.
