Somewhat Confused
Revisado: 08-22-24
So this starts out as a scientific book that makes significant sense. And then it turns into what I felt like was a Christian recruitment agenda. It was almost as if there is no God and then there is a God. I guess I felt like the book needed to go deeper. On one hand, I hate giving it only three stars but, I just could not connect with the second part of the book and the discussion about Grace and God. I couldn’t get it to make sense. But that should not surprise me or you, no one has ever made sense of God.

Solid Teaching
Revisado: 07-15-24
This book drills right into the heart of dealing with our anger and bitterness towards those who have hurt us. Most of all , it addresses what we can do about it inside ourselves. I would not call this book a book for a novice, spiritual person. The practices at least to me, feel advanced. They are not easy. They are very real. Thich Nhat Hanh is one of those people that make me wonder where they came from. He reminds me that there are the most remarkable people in the world who seem to defy all odds. At the end of the book, I thought to myself, what would the world be like if we taught these lessons to very young people? Incredible is all that comes to mind. A young person who can master these skills could probably live pretty much whatever kind of life they wanted to live.

Historia
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

Nothing New
Revisado: 12-13-22
This book is the same old thing written, over and over, regurgitated from the same information rearranged to appeal pacifically to women. This book, is marketed directly at women as its niche. You won’t find anything new here. Nothing in this book will bring about permanent change.
