Historia
Insurrection is in the air in the city of Ankh-Morpork. The Haves and Have-Nots are about to fall out all over again. Captain Sam Vimes of the city's ramshackle Night Watch is used to this. It's enough to drive a man to drink. Well, to drink more. But this time, something is different - the Have-Nots have found the key to a dormant, lethal weapon that even they don't fully understand and they're about to unleash a campaign of terror on the city. Time for Captain Vimes to sober up.

It is a learning experience for everyone!
Revisado: 06-08-23
This is a fantastic take on Guards Guards, everyone is richly spoken, and you can hear the dirt in the voices of the long timers to the city.
Rumbling growls fit the alcohol blasted throat of Vimes, Colon is mild, Bobby is greasy with a smokers voice, and Carrot is innocent and idealistic as he should be.
Vetinari has a surprising rumble to him,but works with his early nihilism, and Sybil sounds appropriately worn down from her life till now.
Does it replace the older version? No, it is simply a delightfully different version.
If making Ahnk Morpok sound extra grungy is something you would enjoy, this us the telling for you.

Historia
They call him Jig Dragonslayer - and who is he to deny a legend. After all, common sense - something in very short supply among goblins - has a lot to do with Jig's continued existence. Though he's been captured by adventures and dragged unwillingly along on their foolish quest, he's survived both the Necromancer and the Dragon. If people want to insist he's a hero, he isn't going to fight about it. But the trouble with being labeled a hero is that everyone expects you to keep doing heroic things.

A goblin can be a hero, and he can't avoid it
Revisado: 02-18-23
Love the series, rare to see many majority/totally nonhuman casts in major fiction for novels. Jig as simple want s, but like any reluctant hero, life won't let him have what he wants. Enjoy the chaos!

Historia
Eric is the Discworld's only demonology hacker. Pity he's not very good at it. All he wants is his three wishes granted. Nothing fancy—to be immortal, rule the world, have the most beautiful woman in the world fall madly in love with him, the usual stuff. But instead of a tractable demon, he calls up Rincewind, probably the most incompetent wizard in the universe, and the extremely intractable and hostile form of travel accessory known as the Luggage.

Having listened to the original audio book series for a few years now, this take on Rincewind is more true to life to how I envisioned. It is new, different, and fresh. A delightful listen.

A refreshing retelling
Revisado: 08-31-22
I love the Rincewind saga. he is in my cast of favorite characters. In this remarked of the original audio, we get a bit more character out of the voice acting for him.
It fits so perfectly well I fell in love with the character all over again.
Listen, and enjoy the ride.

I first discovered Mr Ndiaye through his YouTube channel Casual Geographic, and his irreverent method of giving accurate information never fails to entertain. When he mentioned his book, I immediately got it in Audible and plan on getting it for Kindle and a Physical copy. if you love animals and a George Carlin sense of humor, Get. This. Book.

When Lister got drunk, he really got drunk! After celebrating his birthday with a Monopoly-board pub crawl around London, he came to in a burger bar on one of Saturns moons, wearing a lady's pink crimplene hat and a pair of yellow fishing waders, with no money and a passport in the name of "Emily Berkenstein". Joining the Space Corps seemed a good idea.

Historia
The otters of Green Isle have long been enslaved to the Wildcat Riggu Felis and his catguards, who torture the otters at every opportunity. The otters trudge on, waiting for the day their savior will arrive, the prophesized High Rhulain, who will lead them in battle and a return to glory. Meanwhile, young Tiria Wildlough, an ottermaid at Redwall Abbey, pines for her chance to learn the ways of the warrior, much against the wishes of her father.

A stable book in a great series.
Revisado: 02-25-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. I would recommend this book due to the fact that while not the best Redwall book, it show cases the best traits of the series. The story moves along well, the characters are engaging and the villains are a well written bunch.
What was one of the most memorable moments of High Rhulain?
The moments are not nearly as important as the choices of Atunra and Riggu Felis. Well chosen and delightful to listen too.
What does Brian Jacques and Full Cast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Aside from the well played songs of the book, it gives the characters a new life due to the characters, making the world seem more realistic.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not particularly, though listening to the villains bickering was always fun.
Any additional comments?
The biggest flaw of the book comes about as the sense of danger is minor. It is a very middle of the road book, and one of the few with an otter main character (as well as the only female otter main character). So it is not the best, but far from the worst.

Historia
When Redwall was published in 1987 it catapulted author Brian Jacques to international stardom. And small wonder! This enthralling tale is jam-packed with the things we long for in a great adventure: danger, laughter, hairbreadth escapes, tragedy, mystery, a touch of wonder, a truly despicable villain, and a hero we can take to heart.

The beginning of a Legend
Revisado: 02-14-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Redwall is an interesting story. Many of the elements to be present in the rest of the series started here... But unrefined. Things vanish with no warning, and cultures are refined. Still, this is a good listen if you want to see where it all started, and if only for Cluny the Scourge. Jason Mulhearn takes what could be considered a villainous rasp, or deep rumble, and turns it into a smooth accented cadence all his own. He gave Cluny a clever voice, one full of guile. For all the flaws of this prototype of a book, he more than made up for them with such a unique villain's voice.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Hindsight is 20/20, and in this case, it is hard to say. This started the series I fell in love with years ago, but it is flawed. Rather than ask would I change it, I ask should I? After all, it is interesting to see a story evolve, and few series claim such an evolution.
Have you listened to any of Brian Jacques and Full Cast ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have, and it ranks high on the list. The voice sound natural for the characters, and have very little forcing behind them. The voices fit and the author's Narrative chops work well.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not really, this is better taken in small bites than all in one go.
