Historia
The outbreak began in New York. Soon it had spread to the rest of the world. People were attacked and infected, and they died. Then they came back. Nowhere is safe from the undead. As anarchy and civil war took grip across the globe, Britain was quarantined. The press was nationalized. Martial law, curfews, and rationing were implemented. It wasn't enough. An evacuation was planned.

I especially enjoyed that this book was written from a one person viewpoint, and the reader very much deserves kudos for carrying it off.

A Fine Taste of Poison, Hard to Resist.
Revisado: 08-08-17
This is the first book of the series, and I can't wait to continue. This book had me from the start. I love that it's told from the 8 year old boy's point of view, but is written in a fashion that not only challenges younger readers, but is more than sufficiently satisfying to older readers as well. The Queen's Poisoner knows how to stir up a potion that will keep you turning pages and breathing in the intoxicatingly addictive fumes. I loved this book, and I an 62.
In much the same way that this story weaves a web of intrigue, I was constantly amazed and intrigued with the versatility of the narrator's voice. The fact that she could switch characters and personalities in a heartbeat was very , very impressive. Such resonance in her voice, and male or female, adult, child or teen, just rolls off her tongue. Amazing.

Just Amazing!
Revisado: 07-25-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book not only to a friend, but to an enemy! I realize this is a young adult book, but it has lessons inside for every age. Inspiring.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I can't pick one character, as each had different personalities that apart, might be considered mundane, but together, they made the story shine.
Have you listened to any of Joel Clarkson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I had never listened to Joel Clarkson before, but I will definitely be looking out for books that he narrates. His voice is so versatile that he can slip between characters, young or old, male or female, and his accents for each were flawless. He is a multi-talented young man, I realized, after finishing the book and looking him up. Take a listen to some of his original music compositions on his site as well. Regrettably this was the only book so far on Audible. Listen up folks - his voice needs to be heard!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"All of life is a battle against fear. We fight it on one front, and it sneaks around to our flank."
Any additional comments?
Give it a listen, no matter what your age. You won't be sorry, and you will come away feeling that there is hope for our world, too.

Historia
The one thing you can depend on in Cold Sassy, Georgia, is that word gets around fast. If the preacher's wife's petticoat shows, the ladies will make the talk last a week. But on July 5, 1906, things take a scandalous turn. That is the day E. Rucker Blakeslee, proprietor of the general store and barely three weeks a widower, elopes with Miss Love Simpson, a woman half his age and, worse yet, a Yankee!

Historia
Here is a timeless tale of waterside Britain that has been loved by generations of children and acclaimed as a classic. The story of Mole, Ratty, Badger, and Toad, and their escapades, whether messing about on the river or poop-pooping in Toad's shiny new car, cannot fail to enchant.

Wonderfully performed.
Revisado: 03-20-16
What made the experience of listening to The Wind in the Willows the most enjoyable?
It was a childhood favorite of mine AND my children's, so I loved the story, but the reader was absolutely wonderful, bringing to life each and every character perfectly.
What did you like best about this story?
The whole experience.
Which character – as performed by Michael Hordern – was your favorite?
Toad.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This is billed as a children's book, but like so many others, incorporates so many adult concerns. My favorite part was actually the beginning, when Mole crawled up into the light - away from his mundane existence, and began to live - it spoke to me, because often I catch myself living a mole's life, when I know that I should come to the surface more often and just live.
Any additional comments?
This book is perfect for any age.

An amazing story by an amazing man.
Revisado: 03-18-16
My daughter, as a grad student, interviewed Sherman Alexi for her Masters project. She was so impressed with his kindness, his talent, and most of all, his spirit. I had heard her speak of him so often, and she recommended that I read his book. I love audio books, so I can work on other things while listening, and I have to admit I binge-listened all day, to this book. Loved every minute. He tells his story with humor, even though we, as the listener, can feel the sadness coming through. Even through all his many trials, he has managed to keep looking forward. I admire him.
