Historia
As a glassmaker and a magician-in-training, Opal Cowen understands trial by fire. Now it's time to test her mettle. Someone has sabotaged the Stormdancer clan's glass orbs, killing their most powerful magicians. The Stormdancers--particularly the mysterious and mercurial Kade--require Opal's unique talents to prevent it happening again. But when the mission goes awry, Opal must tap in to a new kind of magic as stunningly potent as it is frightening.

Unfulfilled Promise
Revisado: 05-15-09
After having read the previous series of novels (Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study), I looked forward to the latest offering from this writer. Unfortunately, the offering fell short of its potential. This novel read like the poor relation to Poison Study; the author tries too hard to elicit sympathy for a character that lacks real depth. And as for the romantic angle, it read like the equivalent of a quickie. With the potential of a wonderful story, the novel came across like a prettily wrapped box with no gift.

Historia
Victoria Jones was a lousy liar. Not that the sensible bookkeeper was accustomed to lying - or anything else that would have disrupted her safe, dull existence. But her world took a terrifying turn when her twin brother, Alex, an agent for T-FLAC, the elite antiterrorist task force, went missing.

A Crushing DIsappointment
Revisado: 02-14-08
I was excited to find that Audible carried this audiobook. After having read excerpts from the other books in this series, I looked forward to read this story. Disappointment doesn't describe how I felt after reading it. I can't understand how far off the mark, how far below expectations this book fell. Victoria, the female protagonist, was an embarrassment. When I wasn't feeling disgusted by her behavior, I was incredulous that she could say some of the things she'd said; she fluctuated between being whiny and brainless. How Mark, the male lead, could be attracted to such a woman is beyond me!
