Historia
Novelist Anne George injects murder, mayhem, and laughs into her popular mysteries. Nominated for an Agatha Award, this hilarious tale of two “60 something” sisters reveals the deadly consequences of a hasty real estate purchase. Retired Alabama school teacher Patricia Anne thinks her older sister, flamboyant Mary Alice, has lost her cotton-pickin’ mind. On a whim, Mary Alice bought the Skoot ’n’ Boot, the local country western night spot where she and her boyfriend hang out. Mary Alice insists it will be easy to run the club - until the previous owner is found executed.

great book all around
Revisado: 04-09-24
All the stories in this series are great. Interesting and exciting as the plot moves along yet with a ton of southern humor as the two sisters spar. The best ones are when the quieter, unassuming Patrica Ann sneaks in with a few well-timed digs on her large, slightly over-bearing sister Mary Alice. (Who usually tries and fails to kick Patricia Ann in retaliation. Patricia Ann is always just a bit too quick!)
The reader is EXCELLENT! She has the voices down perfectly. Easy to listen to.

A favorite series
Revisado: 11-07-19
My daughter, 9, and I love these stories. Just perfect for Elementary or Middle school aged girls. Each of th four books in the series is about one of the 4 cousins--girls, age 12--who have realistic life experiences and grow in understanding of each other and the world with the thoughtful guidance of their grandmother. These books have age appropriate themes that circle back to basic good morals and how it is best to be yourself and be kind. The narrator is absolutely excellent. Perfectly wonderful to listen to--good character voices that add to the story and never detract in any way. Can't recommend this series enough. We are on our third and have enjoyed every minutes. Fun, laughter, sweet times, sad times and even some fun suspense about how the problems will all work out in the end. Nothing scary or overly sensational.

Loved it

Amazing story. So well written. Enjoyed it all and hated for it to end. Well done, Jessica Khoury. The narrator was equally accomplished. So easy to listen to with just the right amount of background sounds. The orchestration added so much to the story. A very satisfying ending but the twists and turns in the plot were exciting!

Not my style
Revisado: 11-06-19
The narrator is quite accomplished at different voices for the children but I (we--my child and I) really do not prefer the voices she used for the children. Wish they were not so gravelly. I'm giving 5 stars because this is a personal preference and I'm not saying the narrator is bad but others might want to check the sample before purchasing. We just couldn't tolerate the voices.
