THE DOG DOES NOT DIE!
Revisado: 03-30-23
...or even get seriously injured. Five stars for this alone! how many times have we all been sucker punched by other Writers who want a cheap emotional response and who evidently never owned a dog or a close pet. the whole story is of the same caliber that you would expect from the others. espionage and intrigue and twists and turns. very enjoyable! and most importantly.... the dog is a very GOOD BOI and saves the day at one point and survives at the end! Hollywood needs to take note!

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Loved it, but kept waiting for next shoe to drop
Revisado: 10-07-21
Very enjoyable, but you start looking for the next problem to happen even before it starts to happen. You start thinking "Oh, he is planning on doing X, let me think of how this will go wrong for him because that's what always happens!". One crsis leads to the next solution that leads to the next problem. I couldn't enjoy a simple, funny, moment like when he gets drunk on vodka because I'm thinking "GREAT! HE'S GOING TO SCREW SOMETHING UP BECAUSE HE'S DRUNK!" I know his goal was to keep his audience glued (with xenonite), but it would be nice to have a breather occasionally. On the other hand, I love the science and the math. Science fiction with actual science! what a concept! The author excels at that. So in summary despite my earlier critique I really did enjoy the story.
The narrator was fantastic and really has a great knack for dialect and accent and giving distinction to all of the various characters. it really felt like different people were doing the various parts. Great job!
If you like science fiction with real science, I highly recommend this book.
