Historia
From the best-selling author of What's the Matter with Kansas?, a wonderfully insightful and sardonic look at how the worst economy since the 1930s has brought about the revival of conservatism. Economic catastrophe usually brings social protest and demands for change - or at least it's supposed to. But when Thomas Frank set out in 2009 to look for expressions of American discontent, all he could find were loud demands that the economic system be made even harsher on the recession's victims....

great read from a insightful author
Revisado: 04-16-18
This is another great work by Thomas Frank. I loved it. As with all of his work he covers the issue in a unique way. His historical insights add depth to his political arguments and his critique of all sides makes this work more useful then the usual good guy bad guy narrative of other political writers.

Historia
It is a widespread belief among liberals that if only Democrats can continue to dominate national elections, if only those awful Republicans are beaten into submission, the country will be on the right course. But this is to fundamentally misunderstand the modern Democratic Party. Drawing on years of research and first-hand reporting, Frank points out that the Democrats have done little to advance traditional liberal goals: expanding opportunity, fighting for social justice, and ensuring that workers get a fair deal.

really insightful and we'll argued. I love this book, I only wish the Democratic party would take it seriously

Historia
In this terrifying and hilarious prequel, we witness the genesis of the zombie plague in early 19th-century England. We watch Elizabeth Bennet evolve from a nave young teenager into a savage slayer of the undead. We laugh as she begins her first clumsy training with nunchucks and katana swords and cry when her first blush with romance goes tragically awry.

Fantastic Narrator for a Fun Story!

Good Fun
Revisado: 04-27-10
This is a excellent audiobook. I found the mix of 19th century pomp and stuffy-ness to mix great with a blood and guts, Kung Foo, Zombie story. The dark humor is superbly done and the narration by Katherine Kellgren is possibly the best I have ever heard. I am definitely going to have to get the sequal next time I have a credit to spare.

Historia
Captain John "Black Jack" Geary's legendary exploits are known to every schoolchild. Revered for his heroic "last stand" in the early days of the war, he was presumed dead. But a century later, Geary miraculously returns from survival hibernation and reluctantly takes command of the Alliance fleet as it faces annihilation by the Syndics.
Appalled by the hero-worship around him, Geary is nevertheless a man who will do his duty. And he knows that bringing the stolen Syndic hypernet key safely home is the Alliance's one chance to win the war. But to do that, Geary will have to live up to the impossibly heroic "Black Jack" legend.

Really Good
Revisado: 09-16-08
He is a little light on discription and a little heavy on drawn out space battles but his premise is fantastic. The level of real life physics he brings to the story adds a level of depth lost in a lot of the adventure sci-fi genre. The narrator is amazing as well.

Historia
New York Times best seller and Whitebread Book of the Year, Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney's new translation of Beowulf comes to life in this gripping audio. Heaney's performance reminds us that Beowulf, written near the turn of another millennium, was intended to be heard not read.

Well Done

I got this for a school report and it was so much better to listen to it then read it. Seamus Heaney has a great voice for the part and was able to make even the parts where they are just listing Danish kings interesting.

Revisado: 10-09-07
I really liked this book it was very suspenseful but in a fun way. The story sucks you in and really makes you care for the people. The narator also has the perfect voice for the part.
