A Story of Grit and Determination

Loved reading about Captain Sandy’s trials and how she overcame them to become the leader she is today. Great lessons in finding your “true North” and never giving up despite the obstacles in your way. An enjoyable read good for anyone wanting to hear some tips on business growth and leadership while learning about Captain Sandy’s adventures at sea while overseeing large super yachts, her crews and satisfying the paying charter guests and boat owner’s needs.

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

Powerful Story of Grit and Resilience
Revisado: 05-04-23
I enjoyed hearing The Light We Carry in Mrs. Michelle Obama’s own words, especially her explanation of the meaning of “when they go low, we go high”, her famous words from the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Worthwhile listen, I enjoyed hearing her perspective on how to be a beacon of light amidst a sea of negativity.

A New Way to Look at Hospitality
Revisado: 02-10-23
I was blown a way by this book! Will Guidara presented a fantastic look into how grasping the concept of “unreasonable hospitality” can create a magical high level of creative service and turn a business into a highly successful and smooth team operation. I love how the principles in the book can be transferred to just about any service based businesses like real estate and insurance, to name but two, and the principle of giving unexpected gifts to enhance the relationships between the business and clients and customers. Will Guidara is truly a visionary!

Al Roker’s Life Story is Fascinating!
Revisado: 12-07-20
A really wonderful story of a really wonderful and authentic man who was raised by what must have been caring, nurturing parents who wanted the best for their son. In this book, ready by Al Roker himself, we learn of how he became the weatherman on the Today Show and all the other jobs he does. I love how the book is segmented as well. A very worthwhile book to listen to in Al’s own voice.
