What a beautiful story!

This is a very lovely addition to you Christmas listening. Although this is a fictional work, it feels truthful. I believe this adds wonderful depth to the already deep work of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

I thought the information contained in the book was well organized and fascinating. I wish it had a different reader however. Bryson has a brilliant mind, and an excellent way with words. This particular book however, lacks his humor and frankly I found his performance rather pretentious. If you can listen past his “British-isms” such as explaining metric weights by means of “stones” then you will love this audio book. I felt like this would be easier to overlook in another person’s voice, or simply in my own voice had I read the book myself.

This story was very sweet, precious, even adorable. It was just what I needed though. I couldn’t help but smile at the ending.
