Historia
When the local Banned Book Club loses their meeting room, Mina volunteers to host the group at Nevermore Bookshop (against Heathcliff's muttered protests, of course). Little does she know this old biddies book club is about to turn murderous. First, someone poisons Mrs. Scarlett, then members of the book club start dropping like flies. Who in the village will turn to murder just to stop people reading a few dusty old books? Mina's got to figure it out quick, or her beloved teacher Mrs. Ellis is next to die. Luckily, she's got Moriarty, Heathcliff, and Quoth to help.

Amazing series for bookworms
Revisado: 11-21-24
This book was just as good if not better than the first book in the series. It is well written with a good plot that has you hanging on to every word, and characters that you can easily fall in love with. I can’t wait to start the next book in the series and see what happens next. I love the mix of cozy mystery, romance, and spice.

Historia
When the Imagine Network commissioned a documentary on mermaids, to be filmed from the cruise ship Atargatis, they expected what they had always received before: an assortment of eyewitness reports that proved nothing, some footage that proved even less, and the kind of ratings that only came from peddling imaginary creatures to the masses.

Wish there were more books to this series
Revisado: 07-04-22
Mira Grant is a storytelling genius. She has a way of pulling you in just like the sirens from this book. I previously read Into the Drowning Deep and knew I needed to read this one as well. It was a quick entertaining read. The only issue I had with it was I wish that it was longer. The size of it made it to where a lot of description was left out. And I felt that it could have been perfect had it not been as rushed because of the length. All in all though this was a great read.

Historia
For a group of middle-aged friends, the trip into the forest was supposed to be simple. All they had to do was find a place to set up their criminal enterprise, and all of their financial problems would be solved. But now, night is falling, and with the darkness comes something else. Something fast. Something ferocious. Something...with teeth.

New take on vampires
Revisado: 02-09-22
I really enjoyed that this wasn’t your typical vampire story. It reminded me of that movie The Descent with underground caves and creatures lurking in the dark. Except these creatures can come to the surface when the sun goes down. I’d never read anything by Brian Keene before but I hope to read more in the future because he did a great job on this story.

Historia
Iris Hollow and her two older sisters are unquestionably strange. Ever since they disappeared on a suburban street in Scotland as children only to return a month a later with no memory of what happened to them, odd, eerie occurrences seem to follow in their wake. And they're changing. First, their dark hair turned white. Then, their blue eyes slowly turned black. They have insatiable appetites yet never gain weight. People find them disturbingly intoxicating, unbearably beautiful, and inexplicably dangerous.

Revisado: 02-04-22
I love every single aspect of this book. It was such a unique book that I’ve read it 4 times since it came out because I haven’t been able to find anything close to this story. I so wish Krystal Sutherland would write a follow up to it so I could spend more time in this world and with the characters. I’m so excited that she has a new book coming out next year and I can’t wait to have it.

Historia
Documentary filmmaker Alice Lindstedt has been obsessed with the vanishing residents of the old mining town, dubbed “The Lost Village”, since she was a little girl. In 1959, her grandmother’s entire family disappeared in this mysterious tragedy, and ever since, the unanswered questions surrounding the only two people who were left - a woman stoned to death in the town center and an abandoned newborn - have plagued her. She’s gathered a small crew of friends in the remote village to make a film about what really happened.

Awesome thriller with some paranormal vibes
Revisado: 04-03-21
I was hesitant about getting excited about this book because of the mixed reviews; however I took the plunge anyways and preordered it on Audible. I am so glad I did because I absolutely loved it. There were a few things I felt were left unanswered which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 but I was very happy with it as a whole. I was kept guessing through the book wondering if the narrator was just going through a psychotic break, if there were paranormal things taking place, if it was one of them at fault, or if a stranger was lurking in the shadows. I was completely shocked when the truth is finally revealed because it wasn’t one of my guess at all. Camilla Sten did a superb job with the execution of this book and I would love to read more from her in the future. If you love Riley Sager’s Home Before Dark I highly suggest you pick up a copy of this book.

Historia
Cerys is safe in the Kingdom of Aloriya. Here there are no droughts, disease, or famine, and peace is everlasting. It has been this way for hundreds of years, since the first king made a bargain with the lady who ruled the forest that borders the kingdom. But as Aloriya prospered, the woods grew dark, cursed, and forbidden.

Great book and performances
Revisado: 12-07-20
There wasn't very much about this book that I didn't like. At the beginning there was a lot of information to take in about the creatures and the world and the characters, but I easily got through that. I loved that Cerys grew into her own through the book. She was a strong girl without it being that unbelievable strong that some YA novels tend to portray. And Fox stole my heart from the very second he came into play. He showed fear which is not something often seen in male leads. All in all this was a cute romance/fantasy/fairytale and I loved every single second of it. I hope that in the future Ashley Poston comes out with more books like this one.

Karen does it again
Revisado: 12-03-20
After Two Can Keep a Secret Karen McManus became an instant buy author for me. A few months ago when I saw a new book was coming out I immediately knew I was going to preorder it. I love the switch between characters that she does in her books because I enjoy getting different perspectives to the same story. The twist in this book was not something I saw coming. I was sure I had it figured out but totally didn’t until the twist was revealed by Aubrey’s character when she figured it out. I really enjoy that in most of her books Karen gives us just a little bit of romance to go with all the suspense. I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.

Historia
Cassie McDowell’s life in 1980s Minnesota seems perfectly wholesome. She lives on a farm, loves school, and has a crush on the nicest boy in class. Yes, there are her parents’ strange parties and their parade of deviant guests, but she’s grown accustomed to them. All that changes when someone comes hunting in Lilydale. One by one, local boys go missing. One by one, they return changed - violent, moody, and withdrawn. What happened to them becomes the stuff of shocking rumors. The accusations of who’s responsible grow just as wild, and dangerous town secrets start to surface.

Amazing!
Revisado: 05-10-20
This book will give you all kinds of feels. You will feel for Cassie and her sister. You will have gut wrenching, stomach turning emotions as you listen to what they see and deal with as children. This book is terrifying in the way that it is realistic and you know somewhere out there someone is going through these things. Jess Lourey brings to life this story in such a heart clenching realistic way that you will not forget this story.
