In this groundbreaking work, psychologist Orion Taraban sets forth his economic model of relationships and exposes the often uncomfortable laws that govern the sexual marketplace. After listening to "The Value of Others," you'll never look at relationships the same way again.

Excellent read 📚 glad I gave it a chance
Revisado: 10-31-24
when you're like me and you've been around the manosphere and MGTOW / Blackpill/ incel circles for more than a decade you can become jaded with the amount of content that is repeated over and over and over at Nausiam however for new comers the author explains these concepts with the analogy of ships and captins and looks at the so called ""sexual marketplace"" from a different perspective towards the end of the book. although I was able to desern and decipher these analogies within seconds of hearing each concept I still thought it was a cool way to explain them. I am always skeptical of the manosphere and you should be too. However, despite the grifters grinders and paypigs I must say this is arguably THE BEST book to come out of that little sticky corner of the internet in a long time and holds up against Rollo potato (okay boomer) and Aaron Clarey as arguably the best and well researched book on current SMV topics in 2024.

everything before the pressure point stuff is great

the book is good and very few books on this topic take an approach from the personal level but this author NAILED IT ! everything about this boon would have been perfect had the author not gone down that weird pressure point /acupuncture hippie BS towards the middle of the book.

Historia
Award-winning journalist and CNN correspondent Elle Reeve was not surprised by the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. With years of in-depth research and on-the-ground investigative reporting under her belt, Reeve was aware of the preoccupations of the online far right and their journey from the computer to QAnon, militias, and racist groups. At the same time, Reeve saw a parallel growth of counterforces, with citizen vigilantes using new tools and tactics to take down the far right.

One of the best and well researched books on Chan culture hands down
Revisado: 07-29-24
out of all the books I've read on this subject including Meme Wars and It came from something awful (both good books that deserve a read) I rarely come across a journalist who just gets it when it comes to Chan culture this might be my favorite book of 2024 hands down. I was part of this culture on the internet back in 2016. This brings back nostalgic memories of staying up late at night sh*t posting with the lads and going to community college. the author brings humanity to an otherwise misunderstood band of misfits there is obviously a difference between being a lonely nerd and being thrown in with a bunch of grifting wannabe nazis but the fact that I was there at the ground floor as Chan culture changed and now we have books about it blows my mind. 5/5 excellent work !

Historia
Foregoing motherhood has traditionally marked a woman as “other.” With no official place setting for her in our society, she has hovered on the sidelines: the quirky girl, the neurotic career obsessive, the “eccentric” aunt. Instead of continuing to paint women without kids as sad, self-obsessed, or somehow dysfunctional, what if we saw them as boldly forging a first-in-a-civilization vision for a fully autonomous womankind? Or as journalist and thought leader Ruby Warrington asks, What if being a woman without kids were in fact its own kind of legacy?

imagine being traumatized by a bad first boyfriend (older than her yikes) and being jealous of you're disabled brother and the attention he got so much you decide to delete yourself from the gene pool and being so petty you decide to leave your parent's and brother to rott when they're old. this book 👎🏻 this Gen Z doesn't buy it LOL.

Historia
Men have been conditioned to be the quintessential "nice guy". They're trained to be overly humble, kind to a fault, and that just "being themselves" is enough to attract and keep the woman of their dreams. Men are told to believe that conventional masculinity is toxic and to put women ahead of their own interests, passions, and purpose. This book exposes the comforting lies you've been told throughout your life for what they really are, enabling you to become a truly authentic alpha who chases excellence and leads a successful passion-filled life.

Subtle MGTOW/incel self projection and Aaron Clarey Rip off
Revisado: 01-22-21
I only gave it 5 stars so people will actually read this review :
Don't buy this book, just don't. i could have gotten the same information in greater detail by reading any of Aaron Clareys books. The author literally steals his ideas word for word and says its his own hiding behind the fallacy that this is something vice president mike pence lives by i doubt mike pence cares about the MGTOW pitty party this guy is throwing. I doubt mike pence cares about the subtle MGTOW/PUA/incel influences that are subtly sprinkled throughout this book 🙄. The author is not being slick or sneaky like he thinks he his. its just more MGTOW stuff that repeats the same thing over and over and over and over and over. MGTOW and incels are a Gen X and Millennial problem not a gen Z problem. This knowledge was useful back in 2013 but nowadays most of this stuff is common knowledge for most young men. boring. unoriginal. and just plain plagiarism

Historia
Never before in the history of the world has more time, effort, and resources been invested into a single generation than the Millennials. Be it incredibly expensive college degrees, perfectly privileged diets, life-coping drugs, uncountable therapist visits, even bending reality so everybody was impossibly a winner, no expense was spared for the most pampered generation in human history. But $30 trillion and 20 years later we have the biggest failure of a human crop in the history of the world.

Aaron Clarey's best publication to date.
Revisado: 09-23-20
Although I don't agree with everything he say's he gives great financial and practical advice. I've read every single one of his book's and this might be one of the best books Clarey's ever written. I couldn't put it down and loved most of the points and arguments he made. I would highly suggest purchasing this book for anyone post millennial.

Reading this in 2020
Revisado: 09-21-20
I genuinely enjoyed this book, it had great examples of bullsh*t jobs and strong arguments and examples to support the authors claim. There's just one huge problem....this book was written before the events of 2020 at a time when I see cities and buildings being burned and innocent business owner's lives destroyed by anarchists and marxist's and BLM. At the end when the author claims to be an anarchist I had to stop reading I was disgusted which is sad because I liked the book. Funny how everybody has a theory about how they think the world works or should work until crap hits the fan. I can definitely tell this was written pre-pandemic and it makes some aspects of the book sound pretty bad and not based in reality. Either way I enjoyed it and thought the author made some good points I just can't get past the fact that this highly educated man could identify as an ""anarchist"" when cities are burning and innocent people are getting assaulted and their lives are being ruined.
