The best audiobook I have listened to. I have read thousands of books in my life and listened to many and I actually think this is one if not THE best book I have listened to. New topic, riveting all the way. I actually forwarded this one, it was accepted, and they loved it.

If you could sum up The Enemy: Victor the Assassin, Book 2 in three words, what would they be?

Hold Your Breathe

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Enemy: Victor the Assassin, Book 2?

Each time he saves someone because he has morals. Not many, but some.

Which scene was your favorite?

In the restaurant, when he whispers instructions to save a life.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Assassin to the death

Any additional comments?

I read the first Victor and prayed there were others. Thank goodness there are! I am in love. The narrator is perfection. The words are so descriptive that it's a match. I can envision the book all the way. I am almost done but I don't want it to end. Cannot imagine any other narrator. Great series.

What did you love best about The Dry?

The narration. The sighing, the whisper of a word. Sentences were spoken in the same way that they were meant to be heard! Incredible.

What did you like best about this story?

Every single thing. the story was tied up in a bundle. You knew all the answers. You understood each character. I didn't want it to end and hope for a series, even in Melbourne.

What does Steven Shanahan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The expressions. As if someone was right beside you speaking the words.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Aaron's sense of home all the way through, as in deciding to stay for awhile to help see things to the end, and yet ready to go back to his condo and put everything behind him. I felt his loneliness throughout, especially when he was injured, and there was no one to be there for him, no one to call. Luke would have been that person, but Luke was his past even if he had been alive. There was no present day person for him so the whole story made me have empathy for him.

Any additional comments?

I thought the author was so amazing and to combine with the narrator was an incredible combination. I can't imagine reading the book and not listening to the audiobook. I hope if there is a movie it can really do it justice.

What did you love best about The Goldfinch?

I was able to picture everything. and feel everything. I am not done with it. I can't stop listening, and yet I can't bear for it to end. I am so drawn to it and I don't want him to get caught. I want to hide the painting for him. I want to comfort him so he doesn't have to do drugs. I want him to know that he isn't alone.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Theo, Theo, Theo. His sadness. His brilliance. His pain. He needs to talk to someone so much. (I am not done yet, so maybe this works out!)

Which scene was your favorite?

Hobe accepting him immediately at the door when he showed up the very first time. I can't imagine reading the book. I think everyone should listen to the audio book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Cry. Very emotional to me.

Any additional comments?

Recently had two close friends die and I felt so emotional right from the beginning of the story. I wish everyone would listen to it with an open mind and picture themselves in such lonely, sad circumstances, and yet have people who come along and save you along the way.

What made the experience of listening to Bertie Plays the Blues the most enjoyable?

Charm. Character. Love. Truth. Humor. I laughed to myself all the time.

What did you like best about this story?

Every single thing. I can't believe an author can be so sensitive, and warm and funny at the same time.

Have you listened to any of Robert Ian Mackenzie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. Glad I read the previous one where Bertie wanted to be seven. A great prequel to this.

If you could rename Bertie Plays the Blues, what would you call it?

I honestly don't know. Knowing Bertie, and the fact that he can play the blues, is so heartwarming.

Any additional comments?

Love it. Wish there were lots more already done.

If you could sum up The Importance of Being Seven in three words, what would they be?

sincere, funny, real

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Importance of Being Seven?

When Bertie made a friend.

What about Robert Ian Mackenzie’s performance did you like?

the whole book was real because of him. it always takes awhile to get into a voice and then you are hooked!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The love that each character had for each other. Loyalty. When Matthew does everything he can to show love for Elspeth from timing her eggs, fluffing her bed, and buying her a home it really gives a person a wonderful feeling inside.

Any additional comments?

I wish I had started with the first in the series. not sure if going backwards would help or matter. hmm.
