Wild ride
Revisado: 11-21-23
Overall, captivating and hard to put down/stop. The only reason for the 4 vs 5 star was the amt of erotic content. Much of it kind of unnecessary. Def worth a read and most likely a binge read. Keeps you on edge the entire time. What a ride!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

What an adventure
Revisado: 03-05-21
This book turned out to be so much more than I expected. In a good way. Without giving too much away, the journey through the mind and options of the protagonist was fascinating. A few brilliants nuggets of life advice were unexpected and a nice touch as well. Bravo.

Historia
Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Boring and self-absorbed
Revisado: 05-29-20
I really wanted to like this book. With so much history at Disney I was looking forward to some exciting stories and instead all I got was how Bob Iger elbowed his way to CEO and then bragged about his time as CEO. If you want stories about Bob then this book is for you. If you prefer more depth and fun Disney related content, this books fails to deliver.

Straight to the top of my recommendations list
Revisado: 02-25-20
This was nearly impossible to put down and I sat in the car over and over because I had to know what happens next. This book has it all. Adventure. Love. Friendship. The building of an industry, not just a company. Even the way he closes the book is perfect. There is so much in this that is impossible to summarize so just download it and enjoy. The time will fly by!

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Interesting but Gladwell has better books
Revisado: 02-25-20
Some interesting insights and examples - I didn’t find the book overly engaging and the song transitions were annoying. I did like the breakdown of events and his ability to share information without appearing too biased as there were many complex situations he explored. Overall, good but not great.

Delightful coming of age story
Revisado: 10-03-19
I enjoyed this book and the final chapter certainly brought memories of my own childhood back as Corey recants his journey that is unveiled during the preceding chapters. The analogies and details in which the story is written are masterful. I did find a book a little long and drifted off a couple of times which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, a very worthy adventure.

Very short/quick read + a few good insights
Revisado: 08-07-19
The good: There are a number of pearls of wisdom, analogies and insights + the activities, were interesting and helpful.
The not so good: The performance felt okay at first and then boarded on sounding like a very computer was giving a pep talk to a 10 year old. It does get a little corny in some parts.
Other: This book is really short. It is maybe an hour (not 1 hour and 51 minutes) as the last 35 minutes are promotions for other books.

Amanda Lindhout reads her spectacularly dramatic memoir of a woman whose curiosity about the world led her from rural Canada to imperiled and dangerous countries on every continent, and then into 15 months of harrowing captivity in Somalia - a story of courage, resilience, and extraordinary grace. In August 2008, she traveled to Mogadishu, Somalia - "the most dangerous place on Earth." On her fourth day in the country, she and her photojournalist companion were abducted.

Interesting insight into a brutal situation
Revisado: 07-30-19
The story is compelling and interesting. I was mostly enthralled with the cultural aspects of the Muslim faith in Somalia and how the actions of her captors changed over time. I never found myself totally enthralled in the story, outside of the attempted escape, and overall while the story was interesting it felt a little long-winded with some details early in the book that weren't really relevant. Overall - it was a good read and I am glad I spent the time on it.

Revisado: 06-03-19
Bob is one of my favorite people, and I've never met him. His life is captivating and his stories are full of fun, love and being vulnerable. I would read anything Bob writes because the way he looks at life is refreshing and the people he helps/spends time with are better for it. We would all be so lucky to have a Bob Goff in our life. Get this book and enjoy being a small part of it.

Captivating
Revisado: 06-03-19
While I enjoyed the ending, I didn't want it to end. I wanted to stay with the characters and chase them around like we do throughout the story. Don't let a little bit of a slow start throw you off - this is a really great listen/book. I was enthralled. Well worth the credit I used.
