Historia
Thousands of years ago, Earth's terraforming program took to the stars. On the world they called Nod, scientists discovered alien life - but it was their mission to overwrite it with the memory of Earth. Then humanity's great empire fell, and the program's decisions were lost to time. Aeons later, humanity and its new spider allies detected fragmentary radio signals between the stars. They dispatched an exploration vessel, hoping to find cousins from old Earth. But those ancient terraformers woke something on Nod better left undisturbed. And it's been waiting for them.

Hard Scifi Adventure, Mystery, Humor, Horror, & Hope the Way it’s Supposed to Be Written
Revisado: 07-19-22
This is a fantastic continuation of Children of Time. It is a continuation of the previous tale, but it does not coast on its achievements. It is filled with new life, science, space and mystery to explore, with an incredible scifi horror element sprinkled in that is so great and shocking that I wouldn’t dare spoil!
Do yourself a favor and pick this up after you’ve finished Children of Time. And then devour this book and hope that Tchaikovsky decides to write a third

Like No Story I’ve Ever Read Before
Revisado: 07-11-22
To say it is a triumph of the human spirit over space and time is far too anthropomorphic for this incredible tale. It is a scifi epic that not only successfully spans across a millennia, but across phylum of species! You will find yourself rooting for both the last group and hope of the Human race as well as a burgeoning intelligent species of Spiders in equal measure. You would never believe that a book so grand in scope could be executed so expertly. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Like the humans on the Ark ship Gilgamesh, you wont believe how fast the time went by once you’re done.

More of a Character Study, Not a Horror
Revisado: 09-15-21
If you’ve played the game this is based on, you know how tense of an atmosphere it creates. The sense of dread while you play it is palpable.
This book has none of that. Instead, you’re given copious backstory to Amanda Ripley and her childhood, intersected with the main plot on the Sevastopol Station seen in the videogame. Any sense of dread is killed by the chopped timing of the backstory, as well as the incessant quips from Amanda’s inner monologue.
This is good for someone who played the game and is looking for more information on the character of Amanda Ripley, as well as some nuggets about Ellen Ripley’s past before the film. But if you’re looking for some tense horror, give this a pass. You won’t find it here.

Historia
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

It is So Cool that This Exists
Revisado: 09-06-21
After what an absolutely ugly bummer the Alien 3 film was, it is so cool that this exists out in the world. It boggles the mind that this wasn’t picked over that depressing Fury 161 story. While this story isn’t perfect and still probably isn’t as great as Alien or Aliens, it’s far more exciting than 3 and beyond, and expands the human universe in a very interesting way, as well as broadening the capabilities of the Xenomorphs in surprising and shocking twists (something that’s hasn’t been done successfully since James Cameron took a crack at the franchise).
The production value of this is stellar, with music, sound effects, and an absolute treat of voice cast led by Michael Biehn and Lance Henrickson reprising their roles.
For any Alien fan, this is a must listen!!
Also (if you can find a copy), I highly recommend reading the dark horse comic adaptation of this script.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

If you’re a fan of Hard Sci-fi with personality and charm, PICK THIS UP!
Revisado: 03-04-21
A hard science fiction setting akin to what’s seen in the Expanse is just the playground for this thrilling Crime Drama, oozing with charm and wit brought to life by the broad and dynamic performance of Rosario Dawson, who stuns with a wide range of believable and captivating voices for a diverse cast of characters. This is like femme Han Solo meets LA Confidential on the Moon, but with serious science backing it. Again, pick this up! You won’t regret it.

Space Doesn’t Have to Be Full of Action, As Long As it’s Full of Charming People
Revisado: 09-27-20
This is a sci-fi book chalk full of universe lore with interesting biology, evolution, and intercultural dynamics in galaxy loaded with unique species in a far distant future. But unlike other sci-fi novels that either put you to sleep with over-exposition or expect you to do background homework to understand the lore, A Long Way To A Small, Angry Planet introduces the reader naturally to the universe through Becky Chambers delightfully charming characters of the Wayfarer space vessel, who are absolutely the highlight of this humorous and intelligent road trip through the stars.
